Honestly think Gallant stuck with Strome because of the respect he had in the locker room and I guess to an extent the relationship with Panarin. I don’t know that switching it up would’ve made a difference because that line was so slow together. Panarin would pull up and Strome/Copp wouldn’t even be in the screen yet. Rangers needed a guy who could get up ice and play quicker in Trocheck.

The real key is that Panarin needs to start shooting more. He’s got a deadly shot, and when he is decisive with it he’s at his best. Need that Panarin back because if not it’s going to be tough to win a Cup.
Play them less if you think you have no other options. It doesn’t make sense given how this off-season has unfolded so far.

Laf needs to play with Kreider and Zib and Kakko with Panarin. That’s where the two played their best regular season hockey this year and that’s where they should start going forward.

Laf and Bread should be 1 & 2 LW.

The f*ck are we going to do about Kreider? Doesn't he blow on the right?

Salivating over a Bread/Zbad/Kak top mega powers line.

*Though, I think there is no harm in trying Laf/Zbad/Kak top line. I'm convinced that could be a real thing. I'm still clinging onto the eleven seconds they played together in the Po's and looked dynamite.

Panarin - Zibanejad - Kravtsov

Our 3 best forwards on one line

No thanks. Zib and Bread have always stunk together at ES by my eyes.

Zero harm in trying Laf there. Spreading the wealth with bread on the 2nd line seems like it should work. Kreider is not the future of this team. Time for the kids to get big minutes, Gallant said this on break up day and I sure as shit am holding him to it.

There’s zero harm in trying Kreider-Zib-Laf, Panarin-Troch-Kakko.

We know it works.

Do we? I thought Laf hated the right?
Best I could tell, Laf was moved away from Kreider and Zib because of defensive deficiencies Gallant made up in his mind.

Kid was playing his best hockey and on his longest point streak and it got shot in the face to accommodate noted defensive stalwart Frank Vatrano.

It's the Dino school. If you are under 27 you're a baby. 30 is acceptable. 32+ you're a real man.

Didn't I read Vince (?) writing it was Zib and Kreider who didn't want a kid on their wing?

So god damn encouraging how well the kids played at the end of the season and the PO's.

A couple of big years incoming (I hope), and I wouldn't want it any other way.

A whole lot to be excited about.

Gallant said on breakup day: 'Kakko and Laf are ready for top 6 mins beginning this fall'.

Let's gooo.

Oh, right... Also Artemi Panarin, of course*

I still can’t believe that people are so willing to throw away and underrate our home grown FIFTY FUXKING GOAL SCORER WTF.

Moving him off of Zibanejad's wing isn't doing either of these things.

They aren't a great combo at ES (he's performed WAY better with Chytil, no matter who the other winger was) and he is going to continue to score most of his goals on the PP.

In over 100 minutes at 5v5, Kreider managed 2 more goals than Laf. Something tells me that had Laf had even minutes, he would have outscored career year Kreider 5v5 last year. Laf and Zib have been a pretty good combo IIRC, going back to the end of the COVID 2021 season.

Kreider isn't breaking 50 again next season no matter who he plays with. I see no reason why he can't score 30 though even if he isn't on the "top" line.

Laf may also flirt with (or even break) 30 if you give him more minutes. Sounds like a pretty good way to get more out of the lineup to me?

Duuuude not 'throw away'. I love the kreid, man. Ever since game one of his (in?) Boston in the PO's 2011? I watched it in a basement on w72nd street with like 100 dogs. True event.

I and many others here and elsewhere ate shit on that so hard (wanting him gone for a few years) when he just goes 'Terminator 2 style' on all of the aforementioned haters asses.

However, we have a #1 overall pick BEST AT LW who is breathing so hard down his neck for that spot (Bread is in cement, 2lw, it's his perfect spot).

Career seasons aside, Kreider and Zib haven’t “worked” as a duo since like 2017.

The really chemistry from the KZB line was between Zib and Buch and somewhere along the way people got brainwashed into thinking it was Zib and Kreids.

It's all of the postgame platonic man love between Kreids and Zib. They have a great friendship off of the ice, but it doesn't always translate to even strength chemistry.

I honestly think we should take Panarin and put him with Zib and Kreider...then Laf Trochek Kakko...Blais Chytil Kravtsov. We have trouble at 5 on 5, that first line should end that, at some point Kreider has to accept the fact that him being on the left or right side doesnt matter, he gets most his goals on the pp. Kreider and Zib will help Panarin pick up the pace.
