Agreed on all counts. What I have been pleasantly surprised with is his hustle on the backcheck. Great to see. And he certainly knows how to shoot and when not to overpass in search of perfection.
When you get to see the really good players play, you get to appreciate their complete game. I remember thinking the same thing about Gaborik when he first came over.

His vision is ridiculous. Every play is the right play because he seems to know where everyone is at all times.

Great player, hope this keeps rolling for a long time.

One of the best parts is that a lot of the things that make him great aren't the first things to leave with age.

You are also seeing the true level of ZBad come out. Granted, it is VERY early. But the two of them seemed to find instant chemistry. That is not something that all top players instantly find. Even in other top players.

He has great delay skills that come from his awareness and smarts. When the entire building is expecting him to try and thread a low-percentage pass through a couple of opponents to teammate A, he'll hold onto the puck for another split second and end up making a high-percentage pass to teammate B to keep possession going.

He makes things look really easy out there - to a degree I haven’t seen with many other players.

When he has the puck in the offensive zone he just kind of gallops around and makes magic happen. It’s pretty unique.

He’s also scored the first NYR one-time goal since Brendan Shanahan, which is pretty exciting. I was hoping I’d witness another one-time goal in my lifetime.

this was an underrated play. he's a good pursuer of the puck, too. pretty underrated part of his game. he can get in quick as the F1 and he's deceptive with his stick.

So much fun watching this guy. Still don’t think he is firing on all cylinders yet and yet he is still impressive.

Solid player, gets pucks to the net and isn't afraid to go to the dirty areas

Did I click on the Jesper Fast thread by accident?

All kidding aside, like you mentioned it's surprising how he can simplify his game when nothing else is available, he has the motor and will of a gritty 3rd liner combined with an elite shot, poise, stick handling, vision, and balance. What else is there to say???

I had Panera for lunch.

We have not had a player like Panarin in my lifetime. Definitely not since the lockout. Even our offensive stars post-lockout like Jagr and Gaborik were not the distributors Panarin is.

The pass he made to Kreider in the first period was bonkers. Kreider wasn't even on my screen. Panarin sees the ice so well he's even keeping the cameramen honest.

And the strip right before the pass? Jeezus

Artemi Panarin is obviously a fantastic hockey player, but I have to imagine that the way he was relentlessly feeding Kakko on the PP today is a significant part of what management was picturing when they made the move to get him.

Such a unique player. Kind of guy that you can pretty much play with anyone and he will find a way to produce points/goals. Heck put him with Mckegg and Smith and still puts up 60 points somehow lol.

He's worth the money... So far I like his overall game more than Gaborik's or Nash's. Just hope we can get back to the postseason while he's still in his prime

If you consider what makes him effective though he should still be a force well into his 30s.
Agreed. One of the main reasons I would love to sneak into the playoffs just to see what he could do albeit it could be a bitch to make the playoffs in the east this season (like it was last year)

Feels like he hasn’t even hit his stride yet and he has 14 points in 13 games. Think he’s really gonna go on a tear soon.

Until Panarin puts up 123 points like jagr did, i’m not ready to say he is the best offensive player we’ve had since the lockout. Jagr absolutely dominated that season and was an incredible treat to watch.
