He's the gamechanger we've been looking for since we let Jags go. Gaborik wasn't it, Nash wasn't it. Panarin has so far lived up to the expectations. He's been superstar level for us.
Straight pumpernickel, no doubt. The dankest bread in town.
I know he scored a lot, but it didn’t feel like the game followed him whenever he was on the ice or that you felt something magical would happen whenever he touched the puck. I felt like with Jags that he’d always score. I specifically remember the PP being absurd with him.IMO Gaborik was in his 2 40-goal seasons. Didn't help he played in a defensive system.

Panarin is one of those QB players who can do it all.
Gaborik felt more like a stealth sneaky predator type player.
I'd be curious to see what those who strongly opposed Panarin, think now.
to be fair, there should not have been a single concern about his ability right now. i'm not sure we all realized just how good he was, but that shouldn't have been a concern...
I think the real concern (aside from our 2020 draft pick LOL) is how things look 5+ years from now in the last few years of his contract, and we have to give raises to all of our young players...at that point is he still a superstar or does his cap hit become an issue? and if he's good enough the first 5 years, do we not care about the last few cause it was still worth it?
i'd rather stab myself in the eye then rehash this debate again, but point is simply that we won't know if those people were wrong for a few years...
Doubt he gets there, but going to be honest, I had no idea he was this good.On pace for 47 goals and 60 assists

I also do not recall him being such the two-way player. Is that just because I have not watched that much of him in Columbus or did he add that element to his game this year?
