It's not the same thing as a dump and Chase or an area pass. The guy was clear for a breakaway but panarin couldn't get the puck to him.. he didn't just dump it in he put the puck off the boards and right back into the slot. It's really a remarkable play.

Pettersson did this to set Boeser up for a goal once last season too.

It’s identical except the rangers do it from before the red line and try to get it bounce to where Kreider will go and negate the icing where as Panarin was over the red line already. It was a set play, the other Jacket player used his speed to beat the defenseman to get to the puck. Nice play of course, but top 5 play of him on the season? No way

I know we joked about Panarin needing to stay away from his home country when the article originally came out, but if his politics become a talking point and Panarin doubles down on it he really should refrain. Even if he's offered a spot on the Russian National team (very unlikely now) it might be smarter to abstain. This is real life shit and he's taking a real risk ruffling the feathers of El Putino as that is not something that happens too often...

Whew, people need to calm down with this sort of thing. Putin has despotic tendencies, but he isn't the type of fool to off an internationally renowned athlete who sits comfortably in the limelight. Panarin expressing discontent with the regime in Russia isn't the same as a journalist or whistleblower trying to report on corruption or the like. Not to say that those journalists or whistleblowers deserve such a fate, but it's granny smith and mandarins.

When was the last time we had a (potentially) dominant like like that? FLY line? Czech Posse?
Straka-Nylander-Jagr is the best I've seen in my lifetime. Czechmates and FLY Line come in at a close 2nd/3rd. I don't think we had one stable, dominant line for the entirety of the 80s and 90s...

Calling it dominant might be a stretch compared to the ones already mentioned, but the Hagelin-Stepan-Nash line of 2013 was crazy good until being broken up to roll Hags-Step-Cally
Clowe/Zucc/Pyatt-Richards-Nash ()

Tory Krug also had a (better IMO) one of these last season as well. I forget who finished it but Krug made the shot/pass from like his own blue line, and it was a slapper too.

Pettersson is overhyped:p:

No disrespect, but some of you need a dose of reality. This might seem a little political, but it's also related to hockey; but here's the deal with Panarin....

People in Russia rip on Putin all the time. It's no big deal. However the format Panarin chose was quite novel. Athletes have abstained from politics unless it's pro-Putin rhetoric because sports and 'patriotism' still kinda go hand-in-hand. Athletics is funded by the government and, to a large degree, Putin has hijacked patriotism; hence the difference in reactions to Ovechkin's 'Team Putin' and what Panarin said. As such, many Russian hockey insiders, coaches and ex-players said they respect Panarin's opinion, but it wasn't the best forum to express it. In a weird way I suppose the equivalent in the USA are those NFLers who took a knee during the anthem.

Anyhow, at the end of the day (as anybody with knowledge predicted), Panarin is fine and there's no chance of him being left off the national team. He dissed Putin, so what. He isn't some opposition member getting too close for comfort exposing Putin's inner workings.

2013 was a weird one for sure. I’m pretty sure existence peaked with Haley-Newbury-Dorsett.
Nothing better than Toms flanking Lindros. Jeff Toms on the first line......I still cringe......Made no difference who the other winger was.

I disagree with this statement, because the other winger was Steve McKenna.

When you remember how bad those teams were...
