If Miller is up, he should be up. I think for a 20 year old kid it can be a bit unsettling to have no idea what team you are going to be playing for the next day.

If he know that his team status is dependent on the injuries of Nash and Hagelin, that should be enough security. He will likely know ahead of time when he will be sent down if that happens.

JT's confidence seems hard to shake as well, he usually just does his thing regardless of circumstances.

Problem is that MANY here had Kreider penciled into their top 6. Im not going to say Kreider is a bust because he still has time to continue to grow but IMO it looks less likely that he will ever fill that role.

I hear you man. In my opinion not many of those players seem like they're ready to jump out of the gate and start putting pucks in the net. Kristo might be our best bet and even then we won't know until we know.

I hope so. He has the size and skill to be able to contribute and is probably the most NHL ready of our prospects (although an argument could be made for Hrivrik).

If not then what do we do? I like Fitzy's idea to move DZ for something but the question is, what?

His thing? That thing that can't be mistaken for a player needing proper AHL development?

Its one thing to build an already dubious roster that collapses like a house of cards due to a couple of injuries. Its an entirely different matter when it comes to rushing kids in search of answers. More of the same. More compounding problems.

The only problem with Miller coming up, is that the Rangers go from an already small team, to even smaller. Miller is an aggressive player--good on the forecheck and tough in puck battles along the boards, but physically he is small. Asham as ineffective as he is, was the only "tough" player, on a team that does not hit. However, the Rangers brings up/gets in a trade needs to be much more physical...Someone mentioned the Rangers making a change on D, maybe this is best since the Rangers D had tough time competing against big physical teams so far.

I think Hrivik might be more of a complete player but Kristo has the tools to be a top-6 goal scorer for us.

Yeah MDZ and Girardi might be the most "valuable"? pieces for us as opposed to the alternative. (Pyatt, Boyle) who might be able to bring something back. What worries me is trading our D for forwards when our defense so far this season has been awful. I doubt anything like that even happens though, i'm sure this team will work with what it has for a little bit. All i know is; no matter what happens, if Sather trades our 1st i'm gunna call him and pull a Liam Neeson.

6'1 205 isn't exactly small.

He's two inches taller than Asham and 5 pounds lighter.

There are reasons not to bring up Miller. He's size, to me, isn't one of them.

Rangers are just in a really tough spot with Nash and Hagelin out.

Probably didn't want to call up Miller, but I'm not sure what options the rangers really have right now. In my opinion from what I've seen out of both players I feel like Miller probably would be the guy I would call up instead of Kreider. I know Miller is a turnover machine, but I feel like I see him trying to do a lot more with his time on the ice than I do with Kreider, sometimes I couldn't even tell Kreider was out on the ice in preseason.

This team is still too soft throughout the lineup, and too offensively inept in the top 6.... predicted we would go 3-7 in our first 10 games even if we had Nash playing and it appears we might be match that prediction

I hate Miller coming up. I would have liked for him to have gotten into a good rhythm down in Hartford for a while.
Hate it too. Would like all of the "real" prospects in HFD to get at least 20 games down there. I wouldn't mind Fast being in HFD developing with his peers as well.

BTW, nobody should ever remind me of Ryan Hollweg, but Dorsett has.

I'm not ready to punt him away yet, but he needs to chill. I've never hated a Ranger more than Ryan Hollweg. No hyperbole.

Last game I totally said to myself, "this guy is Hollweg" lol

Miller is a pretty well rounded player with good size and strength. Whether he's ready or not he can always be sent back. He seems tough minded enough that it's not going to have very much of a negative effect on his developing further were that to happen.

Best backup in the league huh called by some posters?

Last few seasons? Yeah I would say he was very close to being the top back up.

Didnt play that great so far this year, unfortunately he is expendable with Talbot needing a taste of some action.

Someone had be thrown under the bus, and it wasnt going to be our new coach, stars or youth.

My point was that he is likely the one of the Pack kids who would suffer the least from a call-up at this point. Kreider being the one with the most to lose.

Who should we have called up instead? Powe? AV wants more skill, players who can complete a pass. Miller fit the bill best.

Now if AV puts him on the 4th line I'll be pissed, since that obviously didn't work last time, but I think/hope he won't do that.

Bring Haley up. Isnt he one of the closer things to Asham? And if AV wants more skill, why was Asham on the team to begin with??? Is this management team making important decisions regarding the future and development of kids in 5 game intervals? as usual, Im left with more questions than answers.

Can they please have a Boyle, Moore, Dorsett 4th line and play miller at 3rd line centre?
