I hope your right. Maybe the poor start is messing with his head.

Not my cup of tea, but with AV's active style of roster changes IE LAK game, STL game..I don't mind Dorsett staying around and being inserted for rough and tumble matchups.

Exactly. I think he actually has more hockey skill than Prust, he just had a bad game... Hell, the "Power Play" goals that the blues scored were really Biron's fault in my opinion. Especially the point blank high slot slap shot

Not to turn this into a toughness thread (please don't do that ) but nuking Asham makes this soft team even softer.

He might not be a banger, but he's the only one on the roster that can respond properly. I don't really want to see Dorse go against guys like Allen again. That was embarrassing.

Get Haley up here.

AV said team needs skill up with Nash/Hags sidelined. Means to me could see Miller and Kreider. 11 forwards last time out. They both could get top 6/9 minutes here. Fast should be as well. Still Boyle, Pyatt, Dorsett, Moore in line-up. Too many 4th liners still. Remove one and add some skill. Personally prefer Pyatt or Dorsett of the 4 to sit. If one gets the call, lines should be like this:

Fast-Richards-Cally
Pouliot-Brassard-Zuke
Miller/Kredier-Stepan-Boyle
Dorsett-Moore-Pyatt

Fast should get a shot over Miller/Kreider right now. Better player at the moment and shows signs at the NHL level. Hope his minutes increase. Rather would see Kredier than Miller at this moment. May shock us and see someone else. Kristo has looked good in the AHL so far too. Lindberg and Hrivik have not showed as much.

Asham seems to be a standup good guy.

I don't want him re-signed, esp. for the $$ now paid.
That said, I have no prob w/him on the bubble and in the meantime Pyatt moved.

From an energy/skating standpoint we need guys like Haley.
From a scoring standpoint, even though a guy like Kristo is higher on the list, I'd give him more minutes and let a guy like Yogan come on 4th line, so we don't lose him for nothing when he walks cause he didn't get a chance.

He had another surgery on his hip in the offseason. That's two or three. You have to believe he's pretty much done. A goalie with bad hips?

Emery has come back from multiple hip issues. Not unforeseen. Young goalie that needs to play with little pro experience. Might be over for him specifically.

Hah...Nash not skating at practice, and still concussed. GREAT START TO THE SEASON.

My gut tells me he's gone....for this season at least.

That hit in SJ was no big deal in my honest opinion. It's really too bad. When I saw the replay after hearing that he was concussed Mike Sauer and Eric Lindros immediately came to mind.

If that's all it take to concuss him, than Nash's career is in serious trouble.

Richards-Stepan-Callahan
Pouliot-Brassard-Zucarello
Boyle-Miller-Fast
Dorsett-Moore-Haley

With Asham gone, Haley needs to be up.

Miller needs to play C.

Haha, you obviously didn't see it from the other angle. His entire shoulder/elbow landed directly on Nash's head.

This would be a concussion for ANYONE.

24 seconds in...

Considering Nash is going to be out for some time, I'm hoping to see them bring up Hrivik if he has played well. I think Miller should develop his game more.

Ya may wanna consider more complementary pairings, to max speed, etc.; IMO:
Richards-Stepan-Fast
Kreider-Miller-Cally
Pouliot-Brassard-Zuke
Boyle-Moore-Dorsett

Pyatt def out, and Richards only for the moment cause they were way too stupid to not amnesty him before, and they are too stupid to sit him out now.

When Hagelin comes back fairly soon, if we have moved Boyle by then, Hags fits nice on top LW instead of Richards, who can go to 4th line LW.

This is not including Nash, but Nash has a concussion, apparently. Gotta not rush him back.

Also, I like MZA's character, but have always disputed if he has enough speed to capitalize on offense and not be more than a shoot out specialist. More importantly, IS IT CLEAR that he has enough shut down ability to check vs. bigger NHL players? Not clear to me, and preliminary there says no.

I don't know about it being a concussion for anyone, but thats Nash's second concussion in two years.

I dont know if its right to blame him or not, but I'm sick of it.

I thought Gaborik was the frail one.

Agree w/Miller at C, but for max speed, w/Kreider at LW and Cally at RW. Juggle rest of lineup and lose one of

Richards, Pouiliot, Zuc, Boyle

Does everyone have a brain that is suspended within cerebrospinal fluid inside of their skull? Check.

Then everyone who took the same hit as Rick Nash, would result in their brain hitting INTO their skull resulting in a concussion. Its physics and science. It has nothing to do with being 'frail'

Just thinking some bad luck is involved. Maybe if the player is one inch a different way its not an injury.

But the player can do better to protect himself a little more.

Please forward along to the highest levels of the science world.

You have seemingly been able to predict a concussion, where all others have failed.

Well, you know we had to blow up the team after 11-12 for a scorer... that didn't work.

Here's the consequences. band-aid after band-aid... We need a real goal scorer if Nash is going to be like this long term

I really miss Gabs. He'd fit us so well right now

Watch the suspension video. Shanahan explains the entire situation perfectly.

It sucks that it happened, just ****y luck.

We should be looking at a point in time where Boyle-Moore-Dorsett is our fourth line, Zuccarello is traded, and Pouliot is on the third line. Until then, we have some serious problems up front.

I thought Haley was good in his limited time last year. I thought he was good in the pre-season. The team lacks energy and a physical presence. The guy hits, skates well, can PK, he should be on the team.

Never loved Haley, but its either him or Powe if we want a 4th liner. We need 3 4th liners too, I really can't stand when a team rolls 7 D.
