MIN GM Chuck Fletcher not firing Mike Yeo today but is likely to trade for goalie. Speculation is he's close to landing PHX G Devan Dubnyk.

I'll post here what I said in the trade board thread:

Was hoping Minny would make a deal for Enroth or Neuvirth, so there goes one possible dance partner.

On the bright side, if Dubnyk, a pending UFA, got a 3rd...Enroth and Neuvirth, also pending UFAs, should get more :D

Nick Foligno of the Columbus Blue Jackets and Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks have been named team captains for the 2015 NHL All-Star Weekend in Columbus.
The All-Star teams will now be designated as Team Foligno and Team Toews.
Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings and Patrick Kane of the Blackhawks have been named assistant captains of Team Foligno.
Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks and Rick Nash of the New York Rangers have been named assist captains of Team Toews.
Team Foligno - coached by Los Angeles Kings Head Coach Darryl Sutter and his staff - is designated as the home team and will wear the black uniforms.
Team Toews - coached by Nashville Preadtors Head Coach Peter Laviolette and his staff - is designated the away team and will wear white uniforms.

LaxSabre - would be nice if Girgensons gets picked by Team Foligno so we can have a unofficial "Team Buffalo".

They've been getting some of the worst goaltending in the league this season, so that's a big part of it.

How can you blame JUST goaltending when guys like

Pominville has just 9 goals
Vanek has just 7 goals
Koivu has just 6 goals
Coyle has just 4 goals
Grunland has just 4 goals

Seem to be well under performing.

Your posts are always so insightful and everyone seems to misinterpret them.

It's more than a little funny for you to take this jab at me when you do in fact horribly misinterpret what I say in a way that makes me question if you could pass an 8th grade reading exam. I said goaltending is a big part of it, which it is. You respond with "how could you say it is JUST goaltending?" when I quite obviously did not say that. Nevermind you misunderstanding what I explained twice in that Myers thread.

How can you blame JUST goaltending when guys like

Pominville has just 9 goals 6.9 S% career 11.5
Vanek has just 7 goals 8.3 S% career 14.4
Koivu has just 6 goals 5.7 S% career 8.6
Coyle has just 4 goals 5.9 S%
Grunland has just 4 goals injured

Seem to be well under performing.

The three vets are all having the worst S% of their careers.
The Wild have about 200 shots more than their opponents but a -16 goal differential.
2.64 goals per vs 3.02 goals against

Will fix everything
@mnwild - #mnwild acquires goaltender Devan Dubnyk from Arizona - Welcome to the #StateOfHockey!

http://wild.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=748719

Yes, they gave up a third rounder in the 2015 NHL Draft for him.

Looks like "dumbass" will be back playing for the Wild on Thursday - http://wild.nhl.com/club/blogpost.htm?id=35929

McKenzie saying Maloney has gotten instructions to cut payroll and to go into full rebuild. Mentions that Vermette will be moved

— Hope_Smoke (@Hope_Smoke) January 14, 2015

McKenzie also said Vermette will fetch a decent return because 2nd line centres who are good on faceoffs are highly wanted.

Is this a literal "life impersonating art" scenario unfolding in Arizona.

Is the movie major league, the new owner wants to hit a clause in their lease which if they lose enough money, they are able to relocate to a new stadium, so they purposefully put together a bad team.

The Phoenix Arizona Coyotes have a new owner who paid a stupid amount (155 million) for a majority stake in a team that has historically bled money

http://www.forbes.com/teams/arizona-coyotes/

It also has an out clause if they drop 50 million over a 5 year period

http://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeoza...sell-team-for-big-profit-thanks-to-taxpayers/

Attendance is already down this year compared to last (averaging 12400 this year vs 13700 last year)

http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance

Now they trade their only competent goalie for really chump change.

With more slashing to come. Gotta think this is the beginning of the end in Arizona.

Wow. There is something a little unnerving about this sort of strategy. This isn't a tank just for high draft picks...this is gonna be a tank to completely redefine a franchise geographically and on the ice.

I don't think Smith will continue his awful play. He should start regressing to the mean a bit. He might not, but he should. I don't see them making any trades beyond Vermette, which everyone knew was coming, anyways. If they trade Yandle, Doan, and/or Boedker, let's have this conversation.

I think this is little more than the Yotes trying to maximize their McDavid coupons while also maintaining a competitive team in the event that they get their hands on one of McDavid/Eichel.

Are they trying to move the team out of Arizona (Nevada??) or just to a new arena? I don't get that... I thought all the drama the last few years was to keep the silly sand-hockey team buried in the desert?? what a dust-aster.
