Penguins got the benefit of the doubt in the playoffs?

drury_game5.jpg

Some things never change.

That year was my first season as a Rangers fan and the reason why I hate the Penguins more than any other team in the league. I was a friggin' noob and I could tell the officiating was a disaster.

horribly officiated game/series.

one of the worst in recent memory was last year's winter classic against philthy. the fix was on big time for them to tie the game. absolutely embarrassingly bad.

Conspiracy theories are probably true with the NHL
No discipline for horrible reffing only rewards

I'd like to see this crash and bang style the Wild play tomorrow against the Caps. Get Clowe in there and get in their faces.

I'm enjoying today so far. The Pens-Isles game was entertaining despite the joke of a call that ended it.

And now the Chicago-Minn game is pretty good. All in all, I can't complain about my Sunday so far.

Every team i've watched in the playoffs this year seems to be playing sharper, skating quicker and hitting harder than the NYR. what gives? The caps aren't that good... it's depressing.

Two hands on his left shoulder for the hold (and whether or not Crosby falls has nothing to do with whether or not he was held and shouldn't effect the call)

And then after that strait kicks out his right foot (probably unintentionally but doesn't change the fact that it happened) directly into the back of Crosby's right skate and trips him.

Don't see how there is any complain about this one. Also there is no way he dove there...he was breaking into the net for a good scoring chance - it would make no sense to dive.

As an aside I would obviously prefer the Islanders win this series since it is preferable for the Rangers if they advance.

People still saying it's not Torts' fault need to take a closer look on where we throw matches away. It is the gameplan. Grind, Jam, Grind, Dump the Puck and hope for a lucky bounce.

It's a miracle we win so many matches. If this team focuses on a passing game rather than dump-&-chase we have a chance to play the way teams like Chicago do. We have the talent, we have the organisation to draw the talents. Nothing else is needed for us to be a bit more competitive. 9th, 8th, 1st and 8th in 4 years is not acceptable for a team with the tradition we have.

his left leg is the one that goes from underneath him, before his right skate gets touched. he's already on his way down.

Oh. Well then looks like he right leg first makes contact with Crosbys left leg and then skate gets the inside of Crosby's right skate. Either way seems like a very legit call. And even besides the trip he has two hands on his shoulder...when is that ever not called?

In OT in the playoffs...

So in OT in the playoffs all of a sudden the rulebook is irrelevant and you can feel free to trip, hold, and hook whoever you want? I think I have a new defensive strategy...
The only reason there is even controversy is because of comments like yours there. Randomly calling/not calling things in the playoffs in OT just causes inconsistency.

Some things are let go in the playoffs. Especially in OT. You are familiar with the phrase, "letting them play" I am sure.

It was a weak call at best.

Yea the phrase letting them play is equivalent to "Being inconsistent." Then nobody knows what is or isn't a penalty anymore.

I just felt like I was watching the Rangers hold a lead late in the third. Come on Minnesota. :shakehead:

IF the Ranger were trailing like the Hawks with 2 minutes left, we would be seeing our 4th line out there doing nothing.
