Re-read what I wrote. It's not just about TOI on the PK, it's also about the situations in which he's used. I'd argue that Callahan's 20+ TOI is actually a detriment to his game. He's always out there in the worst situations where he's needed for his defense. Pascal is a good penalty killer, no doubt. So is Callahan.

Exactly! That is my point!

Callahan is not good enough of a player to be leading a NHL team in TOI/PG. Your team is very flawed if that's what it comes down to! Callahan would play a role similar to Dupuis on the Penguins.

NYR's PP has been woeful going on 3 years for whatever reason. And, honestly, I think Staal and Sullivan are roughly comparable to Dubinsky and Richards. That's not a slam dunk in the Rangers favor by any stretch. Dubinsky had a **** year last year and scored a whopping two goals this year. Jordan Staal is #2 C on most teams in this league.

lol. Brad Richards and Brandon Dubinsky are way better players than Jordan Staal and Steve Sullivan. Let's not get silly here. Callahan's had better linemates.

4 minutes per game with Crosby is 4 more than Callahan had. And how about this year?

I'm not sure where you got the 4 mins from. But yes, Dupuis has played with Crosby a lot this year and is producing like a 1st liner. While bringing in all those intangibles.

Your analysis didn't resemble "very comparable". I think you were trying to make it clear that Dupuis > Callahan, not that Dupuis = Callahan.

I think Dupuis is a vastly superior ES player and PK player. So yeah, imo Dupuis > Callahan. Dupuis has never got a shot on the PP, but Callahan is pretty good at it.

Wind the clock back to Dupuis @ 28 and Ryan Callahan @ 28 and their careers aren't even in the same ballpark. 76 goals for Dupuis, 105 for Callahan. 76 assists for Dupuis. 93 for Callahan.

Can't do this because players progress at far different rates. Compare Drury at 27 with Martin St. Louis at 27 and you'd think Drury is the much better player for the future.

A lot of this has to do with the relative strengths of the teams they play for, too. Pittsburgh is obviously a loaded team with a roster that decimates most NHL rosters by a mile. Having success with a team like that (that's been consistently at the top of the league for years) isn't isolated to players like Pascal Dupuis.

A perfect guy to use is Ruslan Fedotenko. Look at his production with the Pens and then with the Rangers in roughly the same amount of games. Pens production is roughly 25% greater. How about Jordan Staal, who went from the third line in Pittsburgh to 1st/2nd in Carolina and saw his production decrease?

Ask yourself if Dupuis was a Ranger would he have similar production? I don't think so.

It's not all about production, it's how effective the player is when he's on the ice. To me, it's more than point and goal totals. I prefer Dupuis since he is a significantly better player at ES and SH, thus I prefer him. Just my opinion.

To respond to the Moore part: Moore has poise and drive to shoot. DZ is terrified to and shoots crappy floaters. Hesitant as well. And not once did I see anyone want to trade Hagelin.

It's the shiny new toy syndrome. I remember MDZ was literally the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ after running hot on the PP with Gaborik his rookie season for the first month. Yeah I know, I was also the one slurping kool-aid. The same thing is happening with Moore and I honestly don't see him having as good offensive tools as MDZ.

I remember early in the season, there were Hagelin proposals from Rangers fans for crap players from other teams on the trade board. I believe there were a couple of Cody Franson references.

If Pavelski had more speed and better faceoff, he'd be the perfect hockey player.

Wade Redden has made himself useful lately. I never thought he would actually be on the scoreboard, but he has been, and not just tonight.

Good on Wade.

A simple request to all Ranger regs on forum please Highlight this comment to FitzY I would greatly appreciate it LOgan "freakin" Couture he is an old friend and he knows what I said about this kid when he was 18. I thank you and LGR till round 2.:handclap::yo:

First off, I will shoot down the new toy syndrome. That's asinine. The fact of the matter is DZ has been less than desirable at using his offensive skills on a regular basis. For example... He would deke around a few players then make a nice pass... A week later and he couldn't hit the Atlantic if he jumped off the titanic.... Moore has a rocket. He doesn't seem to be as afraid to shoot. He goes for it. No ones saying how godly Moore is.

In addition to the trade things, Eceryone does that. Hagelin is a no tough for me. You can bring up my complaints with Stepan though; I don't like the skate level he's at. He could've even better.

Anyway yeah, Moore is playing well, we are happy about it, and seems to have offensive skill.

I see. I don't remember seeing them in '94, but maybe they were not around then. If you ask me, they look dumb.
Thanks.

Why would they have green men when their jerseys didnt have green in them :/

It's a post lockout thing I think, err not this lockout the last one lol.

Looking forward to watching the first half hour of Sens-Habs tonight, and in between periods of the Ranger game. The Bell Centre will be ROCKING tonight! That building is crazy during the playoffs.

You wouldn't have seen them in 94. It's based off a joke on "It's always Sunny in Philadelphia". It was funny on the show at first but then people played it out.
