Foligno has 9 points in 6 games so far. During his rookie season with us, he had 9 points in 45 games. I sure do miss him.

Gotta start that standings watch early!

What was it last year, only 3 or 4 teams outside playoffs on October 31 made it in?

The numbers I saw was 75% of teams in a playoff spot by US Thanksgiving stayed there.

The reverse was that non-playoff teams had about a 30% chance of making it in.

(I can't remember exactly why it doesn't add up to 100)

OK but 6-8 games in, so many things can change... The only important thing for the Sens is to win their games... But cheering for a team vs another is useless, the team you cheered to win could end up the team getting you OUT OF PLAYOFFS.

''not a top 6 forward'' smh

Let's relax a bit... Foligno had 58 pts in 115 games with Columbus before the start of this season, that's an average of 41 pts (17 goals) per 82 games. That production on this board is viewed as "3rd liner", but I agree, in reality it's more like 5th-6th most productive forward on the average team.

Greening was close to that production in his first 153 games with the Sens. 69 points for an average of 37 points per 82 games (17 goals as well)... Not saying that Greening is a better player of course but... well I love facts over anything else.

but Foligno is just hitting his prime now. What he hit in Ottawa (and also prior to this season in CBJ) wasn't his peak most likely.

People assumed he wasn't a top 6 forward because he didn't ''look like one'' or something like that, even though he was putting up solid numbers and wasn't done developing.

Physical, versatile, skilled... very good player, always has been.

****. Can't believe we traded a 120 point forward for Marc Methot.

Probably intended to make me look silly but that doesn't describe Foligno at all and I don't see how it's of any relevance. So I'm inclined to say that your comment has backfired

edit-Oh I see, on pace. Hmmm.... ok

So it looks like the Oilers scouting team wanted to draft Ryan Murray and not Yakapov but Katz overruled them.

I hope Melnyk never does something like that.

Why would he do that?

Though, in the past I'm pretty sure Melnyk was responsible for a couple FA signings.

I agree, I always liked Foligno & would have liked to keep him. That being said though I also like Methot, too bad they wouldn't have taken Filatov back for Methot.

I always liked Foligno but I think he's a 50 point man. He'll have his hot stretch of games and eventually some cold ones. Saying someone is a 50 point man is not a bad thing, not too many players can hit that consistently.

Good for him for getting a chance on Johansens line and making the most of it. We still need Methot more than we would need him, its a good trade for both teams.

NYI vs Boston and Columbus vs San Jose were entertaining games, especially the second one

Yeah, I enjoy both CBJ and SJS - so that was my game of the night.
SJ needs to step it up, losing three games to the east in a row, wtf! Also sad to see Hertl isn't finding that gear he had last year. Wingels is still doing well though.

Total tangent, but makes me wonder what happened with Setoguchi. He had a 31g/65p season season, but then dropped back down to about 0.5ppg for a few seasons and now is pretty much a 4th liner... Was someone I always thought we should take a flyer on but don't really know what caused his drop.
