I really wish we had a chance to draft Strome. When he was interviewed at the Combine, he said he'd love to play in Ottawa because the Sens were his favorite team growing up.

It was a long shot he'd fall to us, but there was talk that the Islanders wanted Mika.

The Sens really thought they were getting Strome in that draft. They were confident one of the teams ahead of them were going to take Couturier.

Yeah I know. I don't have to explain that I was a big fan of Strome in his draft year. Would love to have had a chance, and when the Islanders were up I thought for sure they would take Dougie or Couturier and we were gonna grab Strome. He mentioned Spezza was one of his favourite players (if not his favourite IIRC). I think he would look great between Ryan and Chiasson. Another assist tonight already against the Laughs.
