Jamtin outright busted, as expected. Ambuhl though, I expected better from.

Sedin got crosschecked in the ribs hard by Hanzel, and Sedin got the penalty. Hanzel injured another Canuck that same game with a dirty shot too, I believe.

Burke is stocking up on truculence. Most people cannot stand him, but good for him for not accepting the marshmallowy recreation club that the Flames had become under Ken King and Feaster.

Chicago got shutout by Phoenix tonight, 2-0.

Don't understand them. Some nights they look like a WCF team, some nights they're a lottery team. Really inconsistent.

I'm following the Yotes kinda closely (about 30 games watched this season) and believe me, no one does.

NHL really needs to change the point(s) system. SO wins not counting for playoffs is just beyond stupid and beyond comprehension for the casual fan. It just makes no ****ing sense.

What's there not to understand. It counts for playoffs, just not a tie breaker. They're casual fans, they're not stupid. Every sport has tie breakers. BTW, you want an SO win to count just as much as a regulation win really? It already has too much affect on the game.

Eliminate the shootout, reintroduce ties, and implement a 3-point system.

Reg. win: 3pts
OT win: 2pts
OT loss/tie: 1pt
Reg. loss: 0pts

Anyone that has gotten through 60 minutes tied deserves a point. A team that couldn't win it in 60 minutes doesn't deserve as many points as a team that could.

Look at these KHL standings that keep the SO along with what you're suggesting. Good lord. http://espn.go.com/nhl/khl

I don't know the point in distinguishing SO wins from OT wins if they give the same amount of points. The regular table would have 4 columns: RW ETW ETL RL. Nothing complicated about that. Then they could have a separate column for SO record (like they currently do).

It would add one column to the standings, big deal.

E: Actually, it wouldn't if we would scrap the ROW rule as that column would disappear. With a 3-point system a ROW tiebreaker isn't likely necessary and GD is a lot better tiebreaker anyway.
