Tkachuk looked like one of the most skilled players in the league yesterday. I don't know why I was such a slow believer in Matthew. But I still don't know if I believe what I'm seeing. I realize an ASG isn't much of an indicator, but nonetheless, soft hands, playmaking, hockey sense and even skating were on full display. It's like he's getting better and better.

It's funny because he was even a little salty at times during the ASG because I think he was trying to win the MVP.

I really hope he keeps that fire going.

When he came in I didn't think his skating was very good nor his hands (puck handling wise). I mean he must have been totally working his ass off on all of this, because there was that little heal chop pass to Draisatl, and the things like that lacrosse pickup up on his blade to a near baseball shot on a close-in break, a between the legs pass, a between the legs shot (at least one time, maybe two). His passing is crisp and f***ing accurate. His shot is good. And he seems to be getting faster and more agile. I mean it's like this kid is morphing into a superstar. I myself never saw any of this coming.

Yeah I could see him as a Flames' captain soon.

4 years, 3.2 million for Kassian :DD
Pretty fair deal I'd say. I don't care if he only scores because he's with McDavid, he'd be 5th in Flames scoring right now. Even if he can't repeat this years production, it's still fair value, for a guy that can beat the wheels off 95+% of the NHL. I'd take him over half the Flames right now.

I think the only real concern with the deal is that he is 34 when it ends.

The Sharks never got to hit the highs that the Ducks and Kings did at their respective peaks. And now with all of Cali in the basement, it looks like the Sharks will be the ones that struggle the most to claw back to relevancy again

Still can’t believe that Ottawa Colorado’d San Jose by getting that pick

This isn't the first time. I forgot who SJS traded another unprotected 1st a few seasons back and they were doing bad around the ASG. They made it to the playoffs though so it was a moot point.

I think it was the season before the Hamonic trade?
