^ yep, if this is just because Vegas isn't as high in the standings as they'd like to be, I'm 100% on board with a guy like Gallant. He's exactly what we need.

The Knights are the top team in the west by almost every metric. Some of that is just having a great roster but I tend to think that Gallant is a good coach and I'd take hin in a heartbeat.

Gerard seems like a nice guy and I like how his teams play but there’s gotta be something a bit off here? This seems like his second undeserved firing to me

I like Gallant. I've always thought he was kinda like the same type of coaching style as Hartley and I wouldn't mind that here.
No idea why VGK has decided to get rid of him though and why Panthers paraded him out unceremoniously.

Take nothing Florida did to get back at the stats boys seriously. The team gifted Vegas 2/3 of a top line because they tried something for 30 games and it wasn't super successful.
The Vegas firing is a bit weird though, maybe they're hoping for a new coach bump?

It's expected at this point. They're paying Peters probably still and Ward has a good record. However, the underlying numbers are meh and Talbot has been playing amazing for a month, which is masking our issues. The top guns aren't firing still and Gallant is a coach that plays a high tempo skilled game, which might help ignite our offense again.
Next two games might be make or break for Ward and can see us going after one of the two if we stumble heading into the All star break.
You cant hire people just by saying "I'm gonna hire you". The guy you want to hire has to agree as well

Yeah it’s quite possible Gallant takes the rest of the season off in order to reset knowing teams will line up in the summer
