It's almost like you shouldn't put the future of your franchise in the hands of men that know they likely will not be alive by the time deals they're signing are finished.
The NHL does the least in terms of making the all star game an actual event. It’s beyond stupid and boring and I get why so few watch that shit. Let alone it being hard to watch for most because of coverage.
But you have a lot of famous actors that love the NHL - Smulders, Reynolds, Sajak, Ferrell, Crowe, Bruckheimer, Bieber, Vaughn, Buble, Myers, Hamm, Fischer, Arnett, Leary, Kevin Smith, Warburton, and even that clown Drake is a Leafs fan. Getting them involved would make it the spectacle an AllStar game needs to be. Even getting Shaq there to DJ would be hilarious and awesome as he brings energy that is severely lacking at these.
It’s been a f***ing joke for the last 2-3 decades imo. NHL has the most boring leadership in charge.
Demko to me is a middle of the pack goalie, I think if they can draft or trade for a younger goalie and play it out, fine. Otherwise at that cap hit, why move him? He’s capable of the numbers he put up 2 seasons in a row before this disaster of a season. Although this season at times it’s the brutal defense that let the team down and also some very weak ass goals that make Fleury’s soft goals look like dangerous shots.

Looking at the standings around the league coming out of the all star break. Man… I’d love if Edmonton went on a loosing streak and missed the playoffs. It probably won’t happen. But they are sitting in a wild card spot right now and I would absolutely love to watch all the Edmonton fans melt down like they just opened the Ark in Indiana Jones if their team missed the post season.

With the Islanders joining the list of teams not bothering to wear pride jerseys/stick tape, it's like, what is the NHL even doing? If their member clubs don't want to celebrate pride, then maybe stop talking about inclusivity. If you're going to promote inclusivity, then maybe make it mandatory that all teams take part?
