The Pens D was way better than Edmonton’s and their role players were always good at at least something. Edmonton hasn’t had that.

The new court details and filings about the 2018 Team Canada players is gross.

From Player 1 trying to say he was a different player to the other players treating her like an object and a hockey Canada ex giving player 1 a heads up….then the suited man at the bar that said take care of player 1 to the victim who was pretty bombed at the club at that point.

All of it just makes me so sick and angry to read. If my kid did this to someone I would personally beat the shit out of him and throw him in jail myself. But in sports culture, it’s protect the career at all costs, poor guy and his future, etc etc.

Player 1 essentially preyed on her by having someone escort her to the washroom when she was drunk. Eyeing her the entire night before the events. Whomever that player is, should serve some serial jail time. As well as the other 5 players.

Every once in awhile I feel bad for Flyers or Caps fans

Then those teams do some stupid dirty shit and i laugh as they burn
Caps fans… Sure… I can feel bad for them every once in awhile. Flyers and Flyers fans… I will never feel bad for any element of that team from ownership all the way down to the little kid with stars in his eyes becoming a fan of the team for the very first time. I wish nothing but failure and emotional torment to them all.

The B's are unbelievable this year. About to go 25-4-2. GD +53 atm

I mean, what happened? They were dominating before Marchand and MacAvoy returned.
I know Krejci came back but come on.

Montgomery just a genius?

Only team in top 5 for PP and PK. Only team bar Tampa to be in top 10 for both. I think that's got a lot to do with it.

Second wind with a system that’s less restrictive than that core has ever played under, but they still have all those good habits.

This, plus I’d add they struck gold with Ullmark who’s been playing like one of the best goalies in the league this year

It’s almost unfortunate for them that they couldn’t make this switch mid season instead. They’d almost certainly win the Cup haha.

Montgomery had Dallas absolutely buzzing before his personal issues. I believe @Better Call Maul and I were both arguing for him this summer.

He seems like a really smart coach. Very similar to Sullivan.

Lindholm staying healthy is huge.

He was always an amazing defenseman for Anaheim but had a lot of concussion issues. Honestly all of Manson, Rakell, and Lindholm have been great since leaving. Makes me wonder about a Fowler trade next offseason for us.

Also makes us so lucky that we avoided that Anaheim team in 2017. What a f***ing powerhouse they were.

Of course the Caps tied it up and got at least a point tonight…there’s nothing more annoying than them winning games…just go away lol

Monty is good because he is constantly adapting and evolving. It’s what he was good at before the NHL job. Sullivan is so set in his ways he can’t see the bigger picture anymore.

The thing with Boston is just how damn consistently they bring their best. It doesn't seem like they ever have a bad game. So for someone to beat them, they also have to bring their best and hope they get more bounces.

It's one of the things I lament about the Pens. When they're on they can play with anyone, but they have way more "off" games than the Bruins to rack up that kind of record.

Don't lament it. Almost every other team is inconsistent like that in this league. The B's are a special case.
The reasons we lost this year are like, bad top 6 combinations, early goalie struggles, Letang/Dumo, sheer exhaustion from the schedule, early PK'ing, PP.

I'm pretty happy with our effort level this year overall, especially in the games with GCRak. When we use the right top 6 it stabilizes the team it seems.

Wow I just read about the QMJHL assault allegations and also Shane Corson’s son. In the Corson case, the others pleaded guilty. I mean at least they had the nerve to do that much given their disgusting behaviour.

Hockey getting its reckoning for its racism, nepotism, sexual assault allegations and other shit.

To me that’s why it’s important to get a coach that knows how to use his roster. Boston is not a young team either but they have a coach that understands the room and is making it work there better than anyone else is right now.

I mean even look at VGK. They got the ex coach and he’s doing well there even with the injuries he’s facing to key players. Yet most would think Sully was ravaged with injuries or had a bad roster. He really doesn’t. He just uses it like he does.

If we had fired Sully in the off season we could have seen Monty or Cassidy as our coach. Instead we get the bullshit we get.

I'm not sure it's a coaching thing. Even in 2015-16, the Penguins came back in a ton of games because they just have a knack of letting teams back in games. It's a Sid, Geno, and Letang thing. It's like they respect the other team too much.

I think a coach can really get them under control if he doesn't try to keep pandering to them so much the way Sullivan does. Like he is perfectly fine managing Malkin's minutes but then doesn't for Sid or Letang.
