Same. Toronto getting a first round win (which STILL isn't guaranteed) doesn't matter as much to me as seeing the Lightning being fed.

The linesman called it a major, the officials reviewed it and reduced it to a minor. The puck is 40' gone, there is no reason to make that hit and he uses his arm to drive McCann's head into the glass. It would be a shame if someone did that back to Makar. A real shame.

Agree I’d 100% hope my GM went all in towards the tail end of a dynasty and try to extend it. It’s one thing if the core never wins anything, but you gotta commit at that point.

Lol at the announcers. One guy thinks he lost an edge, the other says “the stick of Boychuk hits his knee..” ya man, wonder how that happened? Almost like there’s a player responsible for that stick doing the thing it did.

What pisses me off is that the game of McDavid, Matthews, the snipes and celebrations- that’s what’s marketable to most people. You can still have hits, you can still have scrums, but most people see shit like that and say “wait, you can just benefit from that? Brutal sport, no thanks.” NFL benefits from it being part of the play, a cheap shot like that would be big trouble there (look at Burfect). MMA, same thing. They don’t tolerate half the dirty shit the nhl does, and imo it turns off new fans. Current fans, dinosaur GMs, and players who grew up in that culture don’t see the big deal, but it’s gross to the casual and global fans the NBA has managed to attract. The playoffs would still be intense af, but when someone crosses the line they actually get punished. Easy fix the nhl isn’t willing to make.
