I mean in essence it was a late first, Blais who is mediocre, and a B/C level prospect. Tank had 34 goals and 82 points last season. Not sure how much that drives up the cost on Meier, and probably removes the Rags from being a suitor for him.
For a guy the blues left unprotected it still seems like a lot.

I mean he had played 34 total games the previous 2 seasons and had major shoulder surgery so I'm sure that was a major concern. He showed he still had a lot left in the tank last year though, and the Blues have just been a tire fire this season. They also retained 50% which is worth something.

Maybe I expected Drury to clown himself, but that seems light for a Tarasenko @ 50% and Mikkola. :dunno:

Not sure retention on an expiring deal at this point in the season is a huge value add. It's mainly about making the cap work.

Maybe it helps Buffalo if Buffalo is going after Meier and Rangers were the competition.

There was commentary out of the NYR coverage that Meier was deemed too expensive (in cap and in futures) by the Rangers.
Dreger had said today Rangers and NJ were his favorites for Meir. Devils with Meir , that core, and futures are going to be scary if...

“and I sat in regret, of all the things I’d done.. I’ll wait for you there, like a stone”

Solid song. Head case of a player, Jack seems to be. Dude spent his young life being the man and getting accolades, but at the highest level he seems to really struggle with the pressure. Hate to see it, yep.

Not at all sure what to make of Tarasenko deal or the Rags in general. Lots of talent and potential, but it just feels a bit off. Gonna be a late 1st, obviously, but it’s a deep draft and I just don’t look at their stars and think “playoff performers” outside of Vlad, now.

In today's scoreboard watching, Sharks-Panthers tied at 1 in the 2nd, Isles-Canucks tied at 2 at the first intermission.

Seems like a lot for Tarasenko...

it seems fair to me. Tarasenko at 50% for a 1st+ salary ( blias) to balance out the salary

Mikkola for the 3rd/4th+ prospect

if buffalo traded for Tarasenko they probably offer one of the 2nd since they didn’t need to send salary back.
