Most teams aren’t resting their big guns. I get why we have, but it also seems like a good way to go into the playoffs cold. Gaudreau and Lindholm, Kaprizov, McDavid, Draisaitl, Aho, etc. all still played last night despite their positions being secured. I don’t want our guys getting injured but I also don’t want them matching up against a team that’s in the middle of a hot streak with everyone clicking.

Pretty sure we are going to have close to a full lineup tonight. People have to relax a bit, there was no reason to play guys in a back to back this week. Esp with useless Geo playing net and giving up softies all night.

I’m okay with giving them games off. I just was thinking along the lines of your post, that hopefully we dress most of them tonight and go into the playoffs as normal.

per ESPN, it'll only be NYR vs Caps IF (a) Caps earn 2 points AND (b) Pens earn 0

per ESPN: "..should the Capitals and Penguins tie in points and RW, the next tiebreaker adds overtime wins into the mix, and the Penguins have an insurmountable lead there.
So a Caps win in this one coupled with a Penguins regulation loss means we get Rangers-Capitals;
anything else and it's Rangers-Penguins."

Playoffs are where hot streaks go to die.

I expect everyone other than Copp and Fox to be in there tonight though. Perhaps they give Panarin a rest too.

Thinking about Dustin Brown, can't help but think about Avery too.

Avery was such a POS to Brown when he entered the league. Would make fun of his lisp, called his wife ugly. It's what got Avery traded out of LA.

Bah, you're right.

Either is a bad match-up for Carolina, so I'm happy.
I still say (even though most wont admit it) that we seriously (secretly) wanted to play Pitt or Caps, and did whatever they could to AVOID Boston or T.B. My gut tells me that even though it is unethical to lose on purpose. RESTING key players gave Montreal a fighting chance and prior to that, was a very spiritless effort vs Carolina.
I ranted and raved about the way they played vs Canes (yeah, I was pissed) but avoiding a hot Boston and the 2x champs in 1st round is probably for the best.
Playing EITHER in 2nd round constitutes a MUCH BETTER chance against 2 teams that are aging and in T.B.'s case possibly more worn down considering last 2 seasons elongated schedule.
I'm not guaranteeing a win in 1st round, NOR conceding that we wouldn't have beaten Boston or T.B. but it surely looks like this may have been planned?/and possibly to their advantage. Go ahead, rip me. Tell me there is NO WAY that the "brains" of the Rangers didn't "mind" NOT taking 1st. It behooved them NOT TO.

NHL interviewing John Hamm Blues diehard fan. He was hilarious pretending to be Larry David on Curb. I hope he is back for season 12. Go Rangers.

Did someone say Jean Hamm?
