Due to a Traffic Jam Hurricane players walk to the Arena in Toronto

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
Considering TOR jumped out to a 4-0 lead, I'd say the Leafs should make sure opposing teams are always prohibited from driving to their arena for games and have to walk there instead.

I know it's just a cheesy photo-op but the players carrying lattes and Gucci Satchels and not their equipment bags and sticks is kind of an embarrassing look imo. Really 'hoofed' it to the arena - just like the 'old days'. :shakehead

I used to ride my bike 7-10 miles one way to the rink carrying all my equipment and sticks. Fun times.

More like bad population planning. Every city/municipality wants those sweet tax money they get when the population grows rapidly, but they usually forget the cost it takes to build more roads, hospitals, law enforcement, etc etc.

Meh. Every major city that was built long before the automobile area has a downtown like this. You're going to end up with traffic problems when there's such limited space to improve the roads that snake around (often large) buildings that have already been there for a while. What are you going to do, rebuild an entire street worth of old buildings for an extra lane in each direction?

I see an adidas backpack and a bottle of water, you must have a vivid imagination

i'm not surprised.

toronto traffic is a disaster and working in the city is a fools game to an early grave. i used to do the commute but got sick of sitting in traffic for an hour and a half after a 9 hour shift.

quitting is one of the best decisions i've ever made

The equipment is transported in the undercarriage of the bus they were traveling on. The bus that was 'stuck in traffic'.

If they stayed overnight at the hotel, it’s entirely possible that the equipment was already at the arena as there’s no reason for the equipment managers and players to be on the same schedule.

That big spot on the back of the head should tell you that's the GM and not a player carrying the backpack (funny that). What I do see is that apparently it was cold enough in Toronto today for designer black leather gloves but not cold enough for a proper pair of socks or pant legs that reach the boot. Maybe that's why they didn't carry their things - warm hands, cold ankles.:eyeroll:

Where there's a will, there's a way.

Congestion pricing needed now more than ever

Beautiful City............Driving down the Gardiner Expressway at night when there's no traffic and the Downtown is all lit up is amazing.........

Ding ding ding. Most major Canadian municipalities have not been able to expand infrastructure to keep up with the surge of people.

The funny part about this is that all the hotels teams stay at are a 5-10 minute walk to the arena at most. Where as boarding a team bus and then driving would take longer than just walking the few blocks regardless of traffic.

Seems like some bad management on the Carolina front.

How can you not plan for traffic in a city like Toronto?

Nice city planning lol

You're closer to the truth than you might think. Toronto city councillors have been waging a war on cars for decades now. I.e., this WAS the plan. I avoid that city as much as I can these days but unfortunately, work brings me there routinely. Fortunately for Leafs games I can take a train.
