Yikes. Already looks way better than Laf

Power is going to be something special. I wasn’t sold initially but watching his college season, the kid is the real deal, and so far he’s been REAL poised for a kid making his debut. Amazing skater for his size and just so young with so much raw potential. He’ll be better than Dahlin.

Owen Power. Yeah baby. Makes me Randy.

he's gonna look real good until the adrenaline wears off and then he's gonna miss some of those pinches and keep ins and make some bad decisions and people will be calling him a bust
(he'll be fine)

Yeah, I’ll agree. He’ll go through some growing pains for sure. But he’s a 6’6 220lb 19 year old Dman. I give it 4-5 years before he’s prime. There will be bumps along the way, but this kid is gonna be the real deal in the long run.

Barely half a game's gone and the Avs have put up 5 on Carolina

hah this game is kinda wild

avs somehow can't deal with carolina 'throw garbage at the net' strategy very well

I feel like Carolina is going to continue to struggle to win a cup playing a kind of boring style.
It's great they're stout defensively and hard to play against and control the puck a lot but it just feels like their goal is to grind their way to wins and they lack some creativity that is needed in todays NHL

could be totally wrong but so much of their offensive zone control is boring shit

Isn't most of playoff scoring grinding boring goals?

I still think we want to fly under the radar. Beat Pitt 4-1 and shock Carolina. The ice is far more even especially after the last game and what I saw. And Bob is a sieve. I don’t want to be a target.

Caps collecting goals like coins under the couch all of a sudden

Freddie's numbers are taking a hit tonight. Avs should be able to win this one. Then we're officially in first in the Metro by virtue of wins

Makar stepped up on Staal and knocked him into next week

Andersen being helped off the ice. Canes are taking a beating -- literally

As relentless as the Canes are, the Avs are even more relentless.

Rangers have a real chance at the division. Carolina has 1 more regulation win which is the first tie breaker but it's anybody's division now. Carolina has 4 away games left and 2 at home and Rangers have the opposite, 4 at home and 2 away. That 1 game left against them is going to be huge.

Washington has 2 games in hand on Pittsburgh and only 3pts behind. They technically control their destiny to 3rd.

We are tied with Carolina. We technically control our destiny for #1 in the Metro.

Rod at the presser said "it doesn't look good" about Andersen's injury. He's probably more of a straight shooter than Gallant about these things. It's Andersen's left leg. Got clipped by a player during a dump in and his left leg got caught in a rut while moving back into his crease. Stayed in and made a save after that but you could tell his left leg was about to give out and then he got pulled. Helped off by the team's trainer and his left leg wasn't moving. It's almost like what happened to Kakko when his right leg got caught in a rut.

Meanwhile, Staal took a clean hit by Makar. Staal had just dished off the puck and didn't see Makar in order to brace for the hit. Makar led with the shoulder. Staal skated off on his own.
