Sounds like the Golden Knights are closing in on Eichel.

People are going to see the return and inevitably say "well, we could have done that."

Except we couldn't have. I have the feeling talks with the Rangers went like this:

Them: "We want Kakko or Lafreniere."

Us: "Um...no? Nobody else can give you that so it's above market value."

Them: "It starts with them or we're not talking."

Us: "Then we're not talking."

Same thing happened to the Yankees in 2018 when they wanted Gerrit Cole, and the Pirates asked for prospects nobody else on the market could match, so talks fell apart.

I suspect the same.

When we turned down Laf or Kakko they told us to go F ourselves.

Which in that case was the right response from us, and a stupid response from them, cause I maintain a Strome/pick a rookie D not named Lundkvist/Georgiev/First package is probably better than anything else they are being offered, even moreso if Kravstov could be inserted into that deal, which in retrospect, how was he not?

I like Krebs, but if it's like Krebs and a first and some schlubs, our package beats that.

We also couldn't have done it without also moving Trouba or Kreider by next year, really.

No doubt Eichel was never in the cards for us. Buffalo painted themselves into a corner, and the Knights or Flames will be more than happy to get him.

Eichel on the Knights would be a nasty team.

I’m getting ahead of myself, but this makes me curious as to what move we do eventually make at the deadline. We have assets, cap space, and a pretty good team.

Can we sell and get a future top 6 forward stud? I'll offer Strome.

He got seriously out manned in that hit. The knock on him and his lack of size kinda came to fruition there. Lauzon is a bigger guy at 6'2, 210 , but he isn't exactly a train. Just an awkward position with all of the weight on the wrong spot. That'll do it.

Stinks for the Devils, he was really playing well.

I separated my shoulder in college after getting tripped on a breakaway and slamming into the end wall. I was back about a 2 weeks later but it took a few months to get it back to strength, but it took longer to get it back to close to 100%.

A dislocation is much more serious because the joint comes apart but luckily for Jack he didn't tear any ligaments which would required the knife and a much longer recovery period.

Shoulders are a pain and can become a nagging injury if you have to use them often after the injury, but he has a great training staff at his disposal so I'm sure hell be taken care of and given the proper rehab program. You dont want to rush back from this though.

My guess is hell be out 2-4 weeks. Likely the later timeframe or possibly more

I will quote my own post for context, Hughes will be out at least another 5 weeks, which will be pretty much 7 weeks from the injury.

And the fact that he will be re-evaluated then and not cleared means it will probably be 8-10.

Bad injury and not good news for the Debs
