Watching the Jets. Watching Pionk get beat really badly. Very good offensively but boy does he have the same defensive lapses he had with us.

Ha. Yea Helly and that offense were great. The D overall is painful to watch.
It should be but they were dead average in goals scored and were pitiful at generating chances.

Maurice has been their coach for 8 years and Chevy has been there since like Atlanta.

Just a strange franchise.

This is the first time I've seen/heard someone call someone else a herb in 20 years lmao.

Post Game Thread got closed, but this was an interesting sub-thread.

It was a thing in NYC in the 90s. Herb back then referred to an obedient teacher's pet, or someone who isn't a risk taker, follows what the institution wants to please the order givers. The star trek reference is one I'm unfamiliar with, but also very interesting from my interpretation of it referring to an inept middling manager, one who is getting in the way of progress for the task at hand. Is Herb making a comeback? Or is this Herb's last stand?

Puts Suter 1st NHL goal Hawks lead 1-0 over Red Wings. he was MVP of Suiss league last season undrafted 24 year old

Rangers were not interested in coming close to what Winnipeg was willing to offer. The Rangers put 4 players out of bounds and didn’t budge on them.

Having said that, I honestly don’t think this is a great deal for either team. I think this is an attempt at a job-saving deal for both GMs.

Kakko, Laf, Fox, Miller?

Rangers offered choice of Kravtsov or Lundkvist, ADA and a protected first.

They did not offer Buch.

Jackets asked for Kakko or Miller. Rangers didn’t want to go there.

Miller over Kravtsov and Nils, that's saying something.

Miller over Kravtsov and Nils, that's saying something.

I think some of it is also roster management, in addition to potential.

Lundkvist isn’t on the roster and the Rangers still have Schneider in the system and ADA/Fox/Trouba in the lineup. Take Miller from that left side and it really becomes a black hole right now.

Though any move for PLD without it getting rid of salary would’ve required a follow-up action, so there is that to consider.

Rangers love Lundkvist and Kravtsov, it’s just a matter of having to give something of value to get someone of value.

I would have probably been okay with Kravtsov + ADA + protected 1st. I can understand why Columbus went a different direction. In saying that, it should be telling of the type of package they believe they can offer up for the right guy. The names aren’t surprising but it’s nice to get confirmation.

Eichel probably gets Lundqvist + Kravtsov + ADA + protected 1st
