Colorado seems like a bunch of caged dogs going after the puck. Amazing how they win races too every loose puck.

As great as NMack is during the regular season in the playoffs, he morphs into god like status. I mean it's just so impressive...hard too put into words but this guy is the best playoff performer I think I've ever seen since maybe the Lemieux/Jagr Penguins and I'm being serious.

This is other level shit going on here with this guy

Its one teeny weeny spot for cripes sake. I've already been thru this with @jas. I get where he's coming from but too me it's really no biggie at all.

I want too be entertained and the Avalanche advancing do that for me....so shoot me for wanting that...lol

Eh, between that and the Islanders series you're talking two spots --- which could be roughly worth a second or third round pick.

So while entertainment is great, I'm not interested in being entertained at the cost of a second round pick.

It's not the end of the world, but sometimes two spots is the difference between drafting Miller or drafting Johansson, or the difference between drafting Filip Chytil and drafting Pierre-Olivier Joseph. So it does count for something.

MacK hasn’t even been that good in this game. All it takes is one moment though, and him and Rantanen 2-on-1 is money.

scary if the Avs win the Cup and Bowen plus aren’t even here yet.

I once thought that about Carolina when they won a cup with a young Eric Staal and still had guys like Johnson and Ladd on the horizon. Sometimes it happens, other times not so much.

Right now, Colorado has some amazing talent having spent the better part of the decade stockpiling lottery picks and guys in the top 12. Beyond that though it's been a bit of a wasteland. I think depth is going to be an issue for them --- especially when playing teams that can match their star power at the top of the lineup and then roll lines.

All due respect but comparing 1st round and 3rd round is a totally different animal which is why Av's winning and providing at the very least a Game 7 works for me. Hope that explains where I'm coming from.

I get where you're coming from, but that still isn't a cost I personally want coming out of the Rangers coffers.

If it comes out of another team's bank account, sure why not. But my rooting interest will always be on the best ROI for the Rangers.

hope Vegas plays and beats them.

I know it's a different organization with different development/opportunities, but it's still annoying to see Graves out there defending a lead late in a must win playoff game when he could barely get a pre-season game here.
He played 21 minutes and I'm pretty sure he didn't see the ice during the 10 mins the Aves were on the PP

I bet if we somehow traded for him he would lose that ability lmao. I wonder if there are any stats re: worst empty net teams.

Good question. Don't believe I've ever seen stats like that.

Could you imagine him on the Rangers...my lord. The world would stop! We'd probably need too deal Laf,Kakko,Fox and more for him but the thought of MacK on the Rangers is a beautiful thing. OK dream over...MacK will never ever be on a team other than Colorado. I look forward too one day our boys playing him and his Av's in a Cup final or two 3-4 years from now. How fun would that be?

I guess we'll agree to disagree here. The difference in a 3rd rounder picked one two picks in front of another one has pretty much the same % chance of not making it or making it the NHL.

Really no biggie here. So I get what I want and more Av's Stars which too me has easily been the most entertaining series of all of them since the league reopened. The thoughts of Av's Vegas is dancing thru my head as that would be must see TV.

people: Lafreniere isn't generational like McDavid, he's more like MacKinnon

Playoff MacKinnon vs McDavid. This may be blasphemy but gun too my head....I take Mack. I luv MacK's snarl and his fight that he has during the playoffs not too say he doesn't during the regular season. But playoff MacK morphs into a player I'd want over McDavid.

I said it earlier and it bears repeating, I don't think I've ever seen a guy dominate in the playoffs like NMacK has other than early 90's Lemieux and that's a long time ago. This guy is simply on another level than anyone else.

watching seguin these playoffs makes me sad. he's akin to erik karlsson—bad luck for everybody when a severe injury cuts down a star players prime. Seguin used to be one of the fastest skaters in the league with the puck on his stick, now he can't beat ryan graves clean in a foot race.

This is why I'm so happy that we're getting Laf. He has that level of competitiveness that we haven't seen on this team in awhile outside of Hank. Laf and Kakko have shown an ability to raise their play as the games become more important. If they show that same ability on the NHL level, we are going to be very happy fans in a few years.

I'm on board with ya. From the highlights I've seen of Laf, he seems to be a good skater and tho he doesn't have the speed of NMacK, he has all the other prerequisites to be a star. He also seems to have as much even more snarl than playoff MacK has.

And Kakko doesn't seem too be a wilting flower either. I'm with ya. I think we are in amazing shape going forward with both Laf and Kakko.

Really I don't like other teams than the Rangers--there are some that are less bad is all. I don't hate hate Colorado but I can't root for them. If they win--fine---we'll get on with next season. Worst case the Islanders win--second worst case the Lightning win--third worst case which is practically as bad as the second worst case the Flyers win. If I were to choose a team to win of who's left it would be Vancouver. I don't care for the Stars either but I do care about our draft picks and it can make a difference when players are falling who your team picks. One third round pick is not necessarily the same as another. That said the Rangers draft list has always been somewhat of a mystery--there are usually guys we draft on it either more than less unknown or taken earlier than expected. It seems most of the time we ignore the falling--Cherepanov being an exception.

We're not just talking about a third rounder, we're talking about the position of the Canes pick.

If Dallas wins, that slides up a spot. If the Islanders win, it slides up another spot. I don't think many people are too concerned about the third.

I'm telling ya and I said it a couple of other times. Av's Rangers for the Cup multiple times in the next 3-5 years.

Imagine the talent on the ice if that actually happens...my lord.

that’s a high bar :).
