I still think the Avs can come back, but have been super impressed with Dallas. They looked like boiled ass in the round robin and to end the season. Now they are scoring for fun. Much like the Islanders. Bubble hockey seems to favor these types of teams.

If the AVS can learn from these games, and make the necessary adjustments as they gain experience, they’re going to be a major pain in the ass in the west for a long time.

But part of me can see an Achilles heel in the lack of depth they have beyond their stars, and the price they are paying for not being able to consistently find talent outside of first round picks - especially guys in the top 10, 15, or so.

I can see a team that is going to potentially have to deal core level talent for depth unless they start figuring out how to identify guys with later picks. And that’s going to become more difficult if they find themselves in the playoffs from this point forward. Because they’re not longer going to be able to stockpile or rely upon those high percentage draft picks.
Let's help them out with this....for Bowen Byram :sarcasm:

2020 isles = 2012 kings?
Kings were way more talented. Kopitar, Doughty, and Quick were all top-5 at their position. The Islanders would be the least talented team to win a Cup since...?

They still have to beat PHI, then BOS/TBL, then VGK/DAL/COL. They’re like 1/4 of the way there.

I could see the Islanders beating the Flyers. Their goalie is playing great and they have a very stingy defensive oriented game which depends on opportunistic counterattacking and a heavy hitting forecheck. That's going to be a problem for anyone. I'm beginning to wonder if they're this year's St. Louis Blues and personally I'd rather see them knocked out than us gaining a draft position.

I dunno. Being in a 0-2 hole along with some big injuries it would be tough

I think the Avs are done. Got away from them. They give up a ton of goals and Dallas right now is scoring a ton of goals. I think similar to what happened to us Back up goalie in and they just got shell shocked very quickly here and it will be very very difficult to recover.

philly can’t score and haven’t been scoring for a while now. Multiple big guns without even a goal. Hayes as usual no showing he’s got one goal. That plays into the isles game.

I can now see both Dallas and isles moving forward and us getting 22.

I can see Dubas trading for a defenseman yielding some value to address their needs. I can also see JR making a weird trade. Hard to say which way this will go.

I brought it up yesterday but this is almost certainly going to return one of Pitts goalies my guess is jarry

Very surprised a goalie isn’t going back the other way and Pitt is giving up ANOTHER first round pick. Yikes

This one is very weird. Hallander going to Toronto as well. So a first and hallander for kapanen and Jesper lindgren.

pretty good evidence of Edge's comments where 15th might be as good as 45th in this draft right there.

I think it's weirder for Toronto in that it does nothing for them. Cap space to sign Radko Gudas woopity doo.
