By the way Sebastian Aho isn’t a second round pick if he came into the league as a center instead of a wing. He’d have been a top 10 pick. He completely took his game to another level when he became a center.

just throwing that out there.

Patrick Sharp isn't awful, he's a bit boring but he's really there because of his looks, and he's a somewhat well-known name. Kendall Coyne is in no way a broadcaster, idk if they still bring her on but its clear she doesn't belong on TV. Don't know why they're trying to make her a thing. Also she's not even a former player, she's still a current player as far as I know.
She’s terrible. Her voice is brutal, like nails on a chalkboard. She’s famous for being the chick who skated fast at the All Star game last season, and they never stopped shutting the f*** up about it. Sorry, her going fast in circles did nothing for me and she doesn’t belong on tv, not because she’s a woman but because she’s terrible. And her Dunkin Donuts commercial with Pasta is so cringe worthy.

I agree he did, but it was obvious he was an incredible prospect and should have been a high first rounder the season after his draft.

Watching others play Playoff Hockey....

we do not hit/engage nearly enough. We lack that mindset.

Our forwards, for the most part, have the Rick Nash approach to hitting... I cant f***in stand it

To be fair Pasta holds his own in being terrible in that commercial and the writing is worse than both.

Eh, Aho's criticism was similar to that of Henriksson. A lot of people thought he was carried by his linemates in intl games. Aho, like Saarela, played a lot with Laine and Puljujarvi.

He only really took off in his D+1 year dominating Liiga.

We definitely have too much of a sit back approach. The best periods against Carolina were when we were forechecking and attacking them. Same thing on the PK, Carolina attacked the puck and our successful ones were when we were attacking the player with the puck.
When AV first got here and we were really fast our forecheck was relentless. Each year it got worse under him. We need more players like Fast and Hagelin to compliment our stars.

Its the simplest mindset in contact sport.... Take away time and space

We do the opposite and create of petry dish of success for the opponent

Anyone that criticizes Rask either

A) Doesnt have kids
B) Has never had to raise a kid without a support system.

His wife has a newborn, probably breastfeeding and juggling multiple kids while more than likely with no support because of Covid.

For all we know his wife called and begged for him to come home and it probably tore him up to have to choose between his home family and hockey family.

This tournament is becoming harder to take seriously when you see things like this. Very good teams putting zero effort in and being upset by bad teams. Star players just going thru the motions and Rasks comments before leaving I mean how many guys feel this way? That these just feel like exhibition games.

I mean going from 4 months off straight into a playoff series is crazy and it’s showing.

The important thing to remember is that the Rangers are going to draft Alexis Lafreniere.

Even in chess you want to take away the the opponents time and space and there is 0 contact. The Rangers give up the blue line like greeters at a Walmart.

I hope people are seeing Kotkaniemi’s development here. Because Kakko is going to look very similar soon. They have similar strides And this kid worked on his skating during the pause no question. Looks stronger and faster and is playing great for Montreal. both coming over from Finnish hockey very young. Kakko is the better player. But it takes a bit for these guys to find their games here after coming over. You already saw a totally different player in Kakko after the pause. By the time he’s 20 or so you’re going to see a significant jump.

I think that's where some of the drive to try guys at center comes from. Players like Aho, or even Hayes inspire higher possibilities.

While I Lafreniere as center isn't necessarily a path I prefer, I could see guys like Mercer, Holloway and Jarvis as being candidates for something like that.

Don't think anybody is questioning him leaving for his kid but the comments he made were a complete joke and was really disrespectful to his team

I'd even say that about Lafreniere as well.

For argument's sake, let's say he scores 50 points next year. His sophomore year could see a jump to 70, and his third year could see a jump to more than a point per game.

The jumps with certain talents, especially the kids who have real high-end talent, tend to be significant.

If Boston wins and the other eastern lower seeds advance it will help our draft pick from Carolina but it will make it easier for the Bruins to advance to the cup finals.

I hate Boston sports teams but want the best possible pick.

Maybe our draft luck carries over to the Canes pick as well.
