Good move by both teams. TBay gets a 20-25 goal scorer for 1.8m next year as well I believe and who knows maybe on TBay he scores 30+

Devils had to make that trade, great deal for both teams IMO.

If anyone would have asked me this morning about Andy Greene and his chances of getting another NHL contract this summer?---I would have said not very f***ing likely. Here Lou is trading a 2nd rounder for him. Jesus Christ---I mean really is he out of his mind?

As much as I hate to admit the Devils are making great moves. They basically got a lottery pick for Hall who is a UFA. Coleman gets them another first, and they still have Palmieri who should get another first

WTF!!! Why would Tampa trade the Vancouver first and not theirs??? What if Vancouver misses the playoffs does that mean next years pick would be unprotected for NJ?? Holy shit

The Devils did fine but not an exorbitant return. The second for Green is in 2021, not 2020. That's the equivalent of a 3rd this year. Coleman brought back a good return but the first likely slides to 2021, Nolan Foote is not a top end prospect and with Coleman they are getting an additional year of inexpensive control for a player who is really playing well. Fair deals for both teams.

A 2nd for Andy Greene in the year 2020 is absolutely exorbitant.

The only way that the Vancouver 1st slides to 2021 is if the Canucks miss the playoffs and they are currently 1 point back from leading their division. And even if the 1st rounder slides to 2021, that's the equivalent of a 0stndrd in 2020

yeah and only 3 points from being out of the playoffs. Most likely they find a way to make the playoffs but I still feel the Knights/Oilers are slightly better than them to win the division.

Blake Coleman to Tampa for Vancouver’s first and Nolan Foote. Coleman has a year of team control at $1.8 MM for next year. Huge haul.

I'd be very surprised if Nucks miss the playoffs.

TBL have traded 4 of their last 5 first round picked players

Tampa Bay is winning the Cup this year...I'm was already convinced last week that it was going to happen. Now that they got Coleman my lord they are stacked.

Combine that with the fact that they likely will have learned from last year's disaster in the playoffs, yup they are my pick.

As soon as I saw the conditions on the McDonagh trade I knew with complete certainty that this season would be Tampa's year. It's going to be a lot harder to stomach without getting that extra 1st.

Yeah and a few of them went to the Rangers. Gorton takes their prospects and TB takes Rangers vets.

They've lessened the blow a bit by getting some good to downright outstanding players in the 2nd and 3rd rounds--Kucherov, Point, Killorn, Cirelli.

The Islanders had Martin and Johnston in the lineup after getting slammed the previous game 5-0. Johnston had an opening draw fight with Reeves and then hardly played the remainder of the game and almost nothing in the last half. Despite this, Barzal got thrown into the boards by our old friend Holden, no penalty called and Lee had to drop the mitts with Nick.

Trotz and Lou need to move on from the enforcer v enforcer mindset but I can see why the two old dinosaurs love each other. Too bad for the Isles that puts them at a disadvantage against almost all other teams if their top 6 doesn't produce every night.

Get your best players in the lineup and don't worry about who the other team is dressing. Play a tough game like Lemieux, Linden and Trouba and you won't get run out of the building instead of having a 4 min a night fighter killing a roster spot much less two.

Good lord how things have changed but I'm enjoying hockey either way.
Goon running wild got Trotz a cup so he probably figures it’s still the best way forward.
