That's one set of marbles ... twice already this season ... Smechnikov

So the New Jersey Devils acquire Bal from the Yeetes. People look to be high on him and he's huge.
I hope he doesn't pan out.

We kinda have to get another 1st for Kreider now.

I think we're gonna start seeing that move attempted more and more often and I'm pleased- defenders having to consider that move will open up more ice in front of net.

In terms of retribution, it's not like any other option is necessarily a "safer" play either.

Will put this here as well as PGT, as I think no one will read it and I am DYING for responses.

Dont know if this was said already (didnt read everything) but, does anyone agree with me in that it shouldnt have been taken for granted that Panarin's "apparent" goal wasn't?

Mika is my fave......but he skated right past that puck on the goal line. True he was roughed up in the interim. He thought it was in (like everyone did) did the light go on? Premature celebrating.....made him think that? Kreider also bypassed the lonely puck just lying there, spinning.

Many times I have seen players put the puck in a "2nd time" just in case.......haven't you? Maybe a case where Nashville would have been pissed and thought we were rubbing it in?

Fox was the only one that went after it when he realized it "might not have been in", as there was no indication from refs and no whistle blown. It was a blown opp. and a really screwed up scenario, on a night where we were robbed of 2 pts. IMO.
give Fox the C

Does Jack Eichel for real have 16 goals in his last 17 games? That's straight up f***in' nutty.
half of them are empty netters :sarcasm:

But yeah he's great, always believed in him and people thought I was crazy when I said i'd take him over Matthews and MacKinnon. Dude has some of the best tools out of any player, just an offensive dynamo and he's only going to get better.

Haha, knew someone would say it. Dude is on a friggin' tear tho. He's up there with all of them for sure.

He has to be a Hart finalist, if not winner, if he keeps dragging the Sabres around like this

Monster season. When he was bitching about the Sabres publicly I wanted to pry him out of there in the worst possible way but no way it would have ever happened. One of my faves since he came into the league for sure.

14. A couple of my Russian contacts reached out after last week’s note about Islanders goaltending prospect Ilya Sorokin — who is considering an extension in the KHL. They think he’s trying to force a trade from New York to someplace with a clearer path to start. There would be interest — he’s very talented. We’ll see where this goes.
LOL

According to Sorokin’s Wikipedia.. check out the last sentence of the paragraph. Pretty steep return for a goalie, considering he’s unproven :sarcasm: jk.

But in all seriousness, I don’t see why he wouldn’t just try to play his way into the position and clear the path for himself. Not that I give a crap, but still, if the guy wants to play in North America it should be as much up to him as it is the organization to make it happen.

Late hit by Girard on Alex Debrincat as he shot the puck and Avs get a power play from Blackhawks defending a teammate. These refs continue to suck.

Yup I saw that Girard hit when it happened. Dirty play by Girard as they both have some history of bad blood with one another.

Refs blew it bigtime and should have given Girard a 5 minute penalty on that and instead they give Gustafsson the 2 minutes for going to Debrincates aid....total BS I agree

Makes me feel a little better that these refs are not just awful vs Rangers but other teams.
But seriously. Headshots and late hits aren't these all reviewed by video when they happen and by the league offices at least that is what I thought..

they were stupid to sign Varly. They werent just a goaltender away from being a true cup contender. Now they are blocking their best prospect for years to come. Its always been a clown show out there.

Eh, Varly isn’t a clear cut starter anymore but is a Russian vet. Greiss is a UFA this summer I believe. It’ll be Sorokin and Varlamov next year. They actually weren’t that dumb to get a Russian mentor on a deal that’s cheap enough that it’s okay if he’s 1B or eventually the backup.

sure sounds like they could use Kreider or Buchenvich sooner rather than later.

The curious thing with Edmonton will be seeing how they balance what they could use, versus what they are willing to pay.

They don't have a ton of depth prospects in their system that are of interest, and if they're interesting in Buch, they're not getting him at rental prices because he's controllable. So nobody wants their late first for a player under contract.

So that leaves them having to pull from their bread and butter --- former high draft picks and young NHL talent.

The Rangers don't really need another RHD, so the leaves LHD names like Nurse, Klefbom or Broberg. And I don't know how the Oilers feel about moving any of those three.

Would you consider Puljujaarvi + 1st for Buch
