It's not even that insane championship number that gets me. If you tack on finals appearances, you have the following in that time frame:

3 lost Superbowls by the Patriots
1 lost finals by the Celtics
2 lost cups finals by the Bruins

In 18 years, new England has had at least 1 major sports team make it to the finals 18 times..... That is an insane number. I didn't even count all the conference championship games that the pats lost, there's like another 3-5 in there.

It's absolutely nuts what Boston has done since 2001 with all their sports teams. Can you imagine being a 28-30 year old born somewhere in the New England region, all you know since you started following sports is success, titles, parades. For those of us not from New England, it's not supposed to work like that. One is supposed to suffer a bit and deal with frustration about our teams at some point. I mean, you don't have to suffer like myself a Jet, Met, Knicks and Rangers fan as that is beyond masochistic but you get the point.

But not Bostonian's as they simply are going thru the most successful run of team success in maybe the history of sports in our country. I haven't done the science but I don't recall any other city having the run that Boston has had the past 20 years.

Bottom line, it's really good the Bruins lost as it would have been insufferable for me at least as I'm friends with quite a few Bostonian's and I'm stoked that right this very moment they are pissed off at their Cup loss as the last thing I wanted was to see them happy for the thousandth time.

I look forward to the time when Jets,Mets,Knicks and especially our Rangers have the kind of success that Boston has had. Unfortunately, I llikely won't be the 6'3" vertical I am currently and my younger compadres will enjoy it as I won't be around and likely 6 feet under when this happens...lol

I like the Hawks at 33-1. They will have some money to spend this summer. They had a strong finish to their season.

Florida at 25-1. Vegas expects them to sign Panarin and Bob. No reason for them to be 25-1. They weren’t very good last season.

Call me polyannaish but I can't believe we aren't ahead of the Oilers 40-1 or at worst right there with them...that's BS. I'd bet a decent chunk of my mortgage we'll be better than the Oilers this upcoming season and what Vegas thinks.

As long as the Wilpons own the Mets they will never be consistently good. No chance. The best we can hope for is to have the occasional "miracle run" like we did in 2015 where other teams in our division just all happen to struggle at the same, and then the Mets get hot in the playoffs. Aside from that I see very little hope for our Mets as far as them having a run where they win the division multiple years in a row.

Unfortuatly I agree with you. Mets will likely never win a WS for the foreeable future....at least another 10+ years even if the Wilpons sell which they won't. The Jets? Though there is some signs of hope with the hiring of GM Douglass, I still doubt they will win a SB in at least the next 5 years or so unless Darnold morphs into a true franchise QB and the talent they currently have and in the near future they assemble is better than we all think and of course Brady retires finally.

The Knicks? They are eternally cursed IMO and I don't think they'll every have a good enough team to ever win a title even if they acquire a healthy Durant and another all-star or two...it's just not in the cards for the Knicks to ever win a championship. I could see them good again but not good enough to win it all.

My only hope and the only hope for any fans of the teams I root for is the Rangers. I do believe that this team within the next 2-3 years will be good enough to legitimately compete for a Cup seeing they have the management in place to build a team that will have the pieces needed to win a Cup. It's not here now but I do have confidence unlike what I do with the Mets, Jets and Knicks that the Rangers will be win another Cup and maybe even two before I kick the bucket.

It's pretty sad that this is the way it is with my teams and any of y'all who root for the same teams as I do, but this is the reality and I unfortunately accept i,t that this is my fate as a Knicks,Jets,Mets and Ranger fan which is why if any of these teams ever win a title, it is so epic seeing it so f'n rare...lol

Florida wasn’t good just because they had James Reimer and a hapless Roberto Luongo in net all season, they also only missed by like a point or two

Hoffman was a monster, Dadonov had ANOTHER really good year, and you had a combined 188 points between Barkov and Huberdeau...

Literally no one: "Panthers weren't very good last year".... -_-

It's tough rooting for these teams. I've been a fan of all 4 since 1971.
1) The Rangers gave me a Cup in 94. Recently, we had a good 10-year run plus I think the rebuild has been going great.
2) The Jets are a total disaster to root for, but I have hope since drafting Darnold plus I like the direction of the new hires. However it does have the possibility of becoming a tire-fire.
3) The Knicks have been run so poorly for decades. At least not trading away first round picks has given me some hope, albeit, tiny hope.
4) The Mets will never have sustained success under the Wilpons. Just a loser organization. My friends fall for that false hope like Charlie Brown trying to kick that football. I follow them without buying into any false hope. I wanted them to hire Bloom from TB last year. BVW probably set this team back another 10 years.

Everyone playing against Gudas and Wilson better keep their head on a swivel.

Dude just become a Giants fan and your life will improve immediately. The Mets are fine.

I think the Mets have a better chance of being successful (and have been, historically, by a long shot) than the Jets and that will continue. The Jets are just snakebitten, for whatever reason, horrible front office management and bad medical staff, being 2nd to the Giants, not having their own stadium, it's just gotta be demoralizing to even play for that franchise. Mets have had some great success compared to the Jets this century and a lot of big stars who are beloved by the city way more than any Jets players.

What is the point of this trade?

Niskanen is washed up at this point

Flyers seem to be hoping to get a few more good years out of Niskanen...hoping for a bounceback year. He's still good at denying zone entries and at defensive zone exits, should pair well with Sanheim.

Caps want some more cap space. Gudas is a pretty good player when he's not head hunting.

That strikes me as a little rich after such a lacklustre season for him.

Yeah if he rebounds it's fine. If they're stuck paying a 35 point declining player $5.5 mill for the next 5 years then it's not particularly good. Considering his age I'd be real wary if I were an Isles fan. A down year at age 29 could be a sign of a career trend rather than just a bad year
