I wonder how much these dudes get paid. I'm guessing the NHL isn't up to the NBA mascot standard yet.

I really wonder why Calle Stalin wasn't offered a contract by the Rangers. It's not like LD depth is that great. He looked okay in the Panthers Senatoes game

Looks like Gulliver (San Diego Gulls mascot) forgot to take off his skate protectors before stepping on the ice. My brother did that once and it was hilarious, well to me. He wasn't too happy about looking silly.

I'm not sure they're even wearing skates, as it looks like that at the end. When they were coming out of the tunnel, right duck seemed very careful to not step on the ice, lol.

Was that some joke about Gorton drafting kids with no emotional intelligence?

That's a terrible thing to do. There's no place in the game for that crap.
I think it was a reference to the Canadians drafting Logan Mailloux in the 1st round after he was charged in Sweden for defamation and offensive photography (sexually inappropriate in nature, even for Europe!) and Logan even renounced himself from the draft. I'm pretty sure the Canadians could have drafted Logan in the 7th round.

Alex Laferriere with his 2nd goal of the pre-season. Get hyped :sarcasm:
3rd goal. The kid is on fire. 4 points in 4 games. Tied for the lead in the preseason. Even plays RW.

Here
Jesus H Christ. This kid has to be the best prospect since McDavid.
I feel like I am torturing myself when I go to watch Bedard NHL highlights.

Because you cant help but compare. You also are required to watch the highlight 2 or 3 times because it deserves it.

Its not even the regular season yet and hes good for 1 or 2 every game (and practice).

Why does it seem like everyone is so surprised by how good Bedard is?

He's been on the radar forever.

I'll be very honest with you. It's because we have Laf. Having Laf has made me doubt highly touted prospects and what they might be capable of before they play a single NHL game. Once again I know it's just preseason, but preseason is the best time to get your legs under you and test the waters of your abilities, test the system, gauge your improvements and so on. The kid is very fun to watch and has went above and beyond the eye test; thus far. This even extends to his work ethic in practicing after practice, the way he handles the media in the lockeroom, etc. It's not just that Bedard seems like he's going to be a fantastic player, but he's poised to be a franchise player AND a leader.

No reason to doubt anyone unless they are drafted by the Rongos , because this shit only happens to this god forsaken franchise.

I don't bet on sports out of principle, but if I was, I'd be smashing the over on just about any reasonable line for him.

I don't think anyone is really surprised he is good. The real surprise is seeing the delta between Bedard and Laf. They got a Neo-MacKinnon. We got ourselves an Anthony Beauvillier.

If you're surprised, you're just looking for reasons to make yourself upset.

Like even as first year players fresh off the draft, Bedard is a top 3-4 prospect in the last 30 years. This is a Lindros/Crosby/McDavid level player whose credentials are on par if not better than those guys leading into their NHL careers.

If you wanna get even more pissed off, I'll save you the time and let you know that he's going to be better than MacK.

Wishful thinking AB is decent and exciting to watch mostly

Doubtful he will be better than McK maybe if he can stay healthy something McK can’t do
