Is there a team that screams "President's Trophy then first round exit" more than the Devils? +900 to win the Cup! They are a Jack Hughes injury away from the lotto. Talk about hype getting out of control.

They won’t win the presidents trophy with a healthy roster.

The hype is out of control though. It’s like everyone ignored how bad they got smoked by the Canes. Their goaltending and defense hasn’t really changed.

And don’t forget they’re gonna have 2 rookie dmen this year, their d might be really raw and prone to mistakes. Dougie Hamilton for as good as he is offensively is a giant p***y on the defensive side. Shakira Shit got exposed in net and the other guy Vanecek was completely skittish and uncomfortable in the playoffs.

Yeah it's funny how the Rangers are frauds for losing to them in 7, but the Devils are Cup contenders because they beat the "fraud" Rangers. Math isn't adding up for me.

I doubt they start both Rookie D. Thats just asking for it.

I guess it’s his turn on that team to find a way to miss the entire regular season to heal just in time for the playoffs.
This one might impact their regular season more than any of the other “injuries” they’ve had in the past. Is 80 year old Brian Elliott still the backup lol? Vasy missing potentially the first 3 months of the season changes the game in the Atlantic. You can’t win a playoff spot by Thanksgiving but you can lose one. We might finally see Buffalo/Ottawa get in now.

My thought exactly. The Atlantic is going to be a warzone this year. It's going to come down to who can stay healthy. Montreal probably is the only team I really don't see making the playoffs this year. All 7 other teams in the division could get in and I wouldn't be surprised.

I think Detroit easily finishes 7th, they’re still a ways away. 3-6 is gonna be so tricky. Toronto will probably win the division, Tampa would probably have been the favorite to finish second but now anything is possible. 3-6 will be some combo of Boston Florida Ottawa Buffalo. Boston is basically the Islanders plus Marchand and Pasta, Florida has a ton of injuries and I can see them not making the playoffs, Ottawa has a ton of forward depth with question marks in net and on d, Buffalo idk if they have the depth yet.

Bedard is the real deal, gorgeous assist on the OT winner (his 2nd of the game). Made several great defensive plays throughout the game as well and stripped guys of the puck and broke out a few times.
Surprised how good he was at faceoffs too

Agreed and it makes me angry for obvious reasons. End to end, skates away, dangles through people, and creates a scoring chance for himself. Sigh.
