Zegras and Drysdale still without contracts while training camp opened is wild. Wonder who flinches first.

Not the first time Anaheim is in this situation. Back in 2016 they had a similar situation with Rikard Rakell and Hampus Lindholm.

Rakell signed on Oct 14th
Lindholm on Oct 27th

As a result, their cap-hits were pro-rated and slightly higher in the first year of their contracts.

Kind of relevant. Gonna assume the problem is more a Kuznetsov problem because he's proven to be a pretty lame dude that the org has openly tried to get rid of several times, but it's something to monitor as a Ranger fan considering Lavy is here to change the way some of these players play. Thinking about our own star Russian forward specifically.

Kuznetsov is another one of those Zherdev, Semin, Radulov types. He’s lasted longer in the NHL I guess, but when it comes his opinions on coaches not fitting their style and such, I couldn’t give a shit less what he says. He’s super talented and probably only reached 80% of his actual potential because he’s caught up in being a stubborn Russian who only wants to play beautiful, fun hockey (sound familiar?). Add the booger sugar scandal and I just can’t give much weight to anything this guy says. I can, however, see Panarin being upset that Laviolette’s expectations aren’t in line with his own personal style of flashy pond hockey.

Regarding Anaheim playing hardball with their two brightest young players - not sure that works favorably for them. If they get good quickly, I’m sure it is forgotten, but if they’re a bottom dweller for a couple more years I could see these guys being very quick to move on after the inevitable bridge deals they get.

With regards to Columbus… what a shit show. They went out and signed Severson. Traded for Provorov. Obviously they brought in Gaudreau the year before. They’ve added high profile draft picks with Jiricek and Fantilli. Expectations have to be just about as high as ever and kicking off the “new era” with a Babcock coaching scandal is as close to humiliating as imaginable.

Also I’m gonna go on record and predict a Heiskanen Norris and Dallas Cup this year.

Sounds like the guy couldn't adapt.

Laviolette is here to get these guys playing different. If the vets can't adapt to putting an honest effort on the ice then they shouldn't be here. No more country club.

Rangers always want the kids to prove themselves and allow the vets to be lazy bums. Everyone should be accountable. Hopefully that's what Laviolette does, is force everyone to be accountable.

The problem with motorcycles is other people on the road. In this age of distracted (ie... looking at your phone) driving and having a young family there's no way you'd catch my ass on a bike.
While at my usual Sunday AM coffee haunt today I was listening to a story being retold by a friend of two crotch rockets passing a couple of cars and then coming up on a HUGE potato sprayer that are about 4-5ft off the pavement for ground clearance and they both went under the machine at high speed . If either had got caught in one of the hydraulic hoses that control the booms.....it would have cut the heads right off of them . Highways are crazy.....I had a snowmobile pass me at 90 MPH on Wednesday on the opposite side of the road....what a racket....absolutely crazy !
