Agreed and it makes me angry for obvious reasons. End to end, skates away, dangles through people, and creates a scoring chance for himself. Sigh.

Yea other teams end up with gambreakers like McDavid, Hughes and Bedard with their # 1 overall pick. We end up with a guy who would be lucky to go in the first round in a redraft.

Rangers don't seem to be very good with their first 1st round picks, but they seem to do pretty well if they have a second 1st rounder.

The thing that makes me angry is that Hawks fans get to watch him every day. This is entertainment. A big benefit of picking 1OA is that you’re supposed to get an exciting, high skill player there. And then we got what we got.

Go get me Zegras. Shit seems to be going south in Anaheim.

I'd trade anything outside of Fox for Zegras.

Super skilled, fun to watch, Center, local kid, Rangers fan. Would be perfect.

if Bedard stays healthy he's a PPG player out of the box. Chicago will blow chunks but he'll be great and Hall as a running mate is not too shabby.

He'll be a top 2-3 player in the league by the end of his ELC.

I saw a clip of Beddard. Looked good but I wouldn't put him at the McDavid or Crosby level. Size, strength and skating is less than McDavid. Nice stick handling though. Should be fun to watch.

Comparing an 18 year old Bedard to current McDavid is a dumb exercise.

Bedard is stronger than 18 year old McDavid though. He’s short, but he’s pretty thick.

He’s growing some tree trunks for legs, gave me St. Louis vibes when I saw them and he’s still a kid maturing

That clip shows more fluidity than Laf has in 3 years combined.

Lafs future is as a wall/netfront guy, he just doesn't have neutral zone giddyup and never will. Rangers were 1000% right in that assessment, and of course they were, they see him every f***ing day.

I just watched Laffy's 2020 WJC highlights. Constantly moving, shifty, dishing pucks, shooting the puck, involved on the PP, attacking the net, driving the play, headfakes... Where did that player go? The Rangers need to find that guy again.

Watching those reels Laffy needs to play on a line that is buzzing. He's no McDavid or Mackinnon that carries the puck himself (indivual), he is dishing and going and getting it back and thriving on chaotic situations playing as part of the unit. Hopefully Lav's more uptempo style will help him get going, but... I don't really see a fit with any of our top 3 centers who are horses going NS, or Panarin who likes to slow things down etc. - which makes Laf "disconnected" instead of involved. So we see this lost kid out there looking for traction, which makes us say he needs to skate faster to get involved again...

Basically we are asking him to make wine out of water when that's not his thing. Maybe playing with Panarin and Zib as a net front guy is his best bet with the Rangers, but that's still not his game is it.

The whole "future montreal canadiens first round pick" joke took me quite awhile to get. 🙄
Was that some joke about Gorton drafting kids with no emotional intelligence?

That's a terrible thing to do. There's no place in the game for that crap.
