The Stars ability to churn very good to great NHL players out of non premium (i.e non lottery) picks is second to none.

Harley (quite possibly my biggest whiff), Johnson, Robertson and Hintz were all taken 18th OA or later. Stankoven is going to be a menace too and he was also a 2nd rounder.
Dallas has always been that way even before Nill. Remember when they had all those Finns the in the mid-late 2000s?

It might be less pressure, better weather, slower moving cities (in terms of work ethic and attitude), Dallas, Vegas, Tampa are three places that do a very good job at developing talent.

It’s criminal that the bruins are tied with us in the standings with 6 more losses and 5 less wins

Think about that. They’re not worth our bath water

Boston is vanilla as it gets this year. Florida ripped their hearts from their chests for the whole world to see last year

I agree on Boston, they are a good team (a great one in the bad 2024 East) but as beatable as anyone else. Because of that...watch them not shit the bed and win a round.

Feelin' good on a Wednesday
I think I heard Dark Matter playing as they went to a commercial break at least once during one of the outdoor games last weekend.

HNIC does do a nice job with these hype videos for the most part.
They used it a lot on ABC's coverage during the games yesterday also.

I assume the band & the NHL came to some kind of "agreement" cough MONEY cough.

As a huge PJ fan & obv hockey fanatic (not to mention a TV production career) I love this!!!

Rempe has sparked up the entire discussion of single purpose goons among the fanbases. Most fans hate that type of player being in the lineup regularly or getting ice time. This is what Rempe must NOT become. He's learning how to fight heavyweights and that's OK, but he's got to be able to play sound defensive hockey, not take hooking, slashing, holding penalties and have enough hockey IQ to move to where he can screen or use his reach to create an effective forecheck.

There's no role for a full time goon, but there's a huge role for an effective 4th liner that can intimidate and motivate with big hits and who's happy to drop the gloves against anyone in the league. And on an entry level contract.

Tampa strikes first in NJ.

Devils are lucky not do be down by 4 already.

All while playing against arguably the only goalie in the league shittier than their combo. Or at least in the conversation for one of the three worst. Shows you how much other teams respect them right now...

Edit: And by that I mean the Lightning, while playing a game against their direct competition for the last playoff spot, are playing a backup with a GAA over 3.5 and an 885 sv%. I know they played yesterday and started Vasy, but that shows you who they are viewing as more of a threat, and it's the team that's behind the Devils, and have lost more games than they've won.
