with the Elias Lindholm trade completed i feel the urge to re-hash the conversation around how some users on these boards felt Tony DeAngelo was a more valuable asset than Elias Lindholm, brb digging up receipts

@DanielBrassard, @Matt4776, @Igor Shestyorkin and my favorite @offdacrossbar comparing ADA to Cale Makar

Lindholm and possibly Tanev to Vancouver and the only roster piece going the other way is Kuzmenko? Vancouver becomes a pretty serious team. Lindholm’s production hasn’t been anything special since Calgary kind of imploded and all their stars bounced, but he is still a highly talented player who has an exceptionally strong defensive game and is great on faceoffs. And Vancouver has a lot of Swedes. Can definitely see him fitting really well.
You say his stats aren't that special and yet he'd instantly be our #5 scorer on our team. Nothing special, yes, but no slouch either.

The Flames want a first round pick for Tanev. Vancouver tried to get both Lindholm and Tanev. It was too expensive. Calgary probably wants a boatload for Hanifan.

Hanifin will most likely cost Miller or Lindgren and a pick. Prefer to trade Lindgren but I'm open to either if we can extend Hanifin. I'm over Miller's lazy and soft play.

I love Lindholm - I was more alluding to his stats not being anything “special” compared to when he scored 40 goals and 80+ points a couple years ago. I still think he’s probably a low end 1C for some teams (I think he’s a bit checked out in CGY and will produce a lot more in VAN) and an elite two-way 2C and sort of ideal for a contending team. Would have been Colorado’s perfect add behind MacKinnon. Anyway, wasn’t putting Lindholm down, just noting his stats were down this year, particularly goal scoring.

They can want a 1st but I don't think they'll get one.

Lots of GM's set a high price and then come down once its crunch time. He's a good player despite his lack of offense (he does ace transition so thats a good thing) and the fact that he's almost always dinged up. Maybe a 2nd that turns into a 1st depending on team success but I doubt he gets a 1st outright. Remember when Gorton wanted a 1st for Grabner? He returned a 2nd and a b prospect. That would be a fair return for Tanev (before getting to potential salary retention, obviously that would change things.)

They'll get a 1st+ for Hanafin though.

Tanev will go for whatever Manson got traded to Colorado for. 2nd and a decent prospect.

Sucks cause I like Hanifin. Not sure I wanna give up a first and good prospect when there is a chance we colud sign him as a UFA (depending on a few factors of course).

Giving my TV some time off to cool down and let the electrodes rebalance, anyone know how the women game is going
