Good on the Oilers for being close to a historic streak. While 90% of the teams they have beaten on said streak are out of the playofffs.

Don't get me wrong, we lost to the Sharks. So good on them for beating the teams they are supposed to beat. But I don't see them as this clear cut favourite to win the SC above the rest of the good teams.

Another banner night in the metro, Carolina probably gets the 1 seed, but there’s no reason for the Rangers not to have home ice in round 1.

I enjoy the fact that even though they're on a 16 game win streak, they're still only 3rd in their division.

Its easy to forget just how rough their start was.

they have also played 4 and 5 games fewer than Vancouver and Vegas respectively. Asking them to make up 12 points on Vancouver is a bit much, but I've seen crazier shit happen.

Canucks kind of remind me of St Louis of 2 years ago. Almost everyone on that team is having a career year. Difference is their goalie is actually good.

The fact that the Rangers are still 1st in the Metro shows A) how bonkers their start was and B) how depressing they've been for the last 1.5 months to not keep that spread

Still looking for what they can do against top competition, because they haven't really faced it during this stretch. And I got crucified on the mainboards by Oilers fans for bringing this up.

Its true but 16 in a row is impressive regardless. They're basically a shoe in to bump that to 17 in a row.

Good teams lose to bad teams all the time though so I don't think that really diminishes what they've done.

It's impressive, but I have a hard time drawing conclusions about them being the top contender based on this streak.
