Blackhawks probably feel they need to err on the side of caution with how badly they messed up the Beach situation. Just kind of surprised because Perry has a good reputation off the ice, no? That statement predictably lacks specific details but I'm not surprised.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE"- BATMAN
Kyle Davidson to Corey Perry
Is there a tutorial on how to embed a gif (ive never done it before)

I'm just going to say, the outburst from Seravalli here is ridiculous. Do your f***ing job, ask around what happened and then tell us like your job as an insider/reporter is. Instead of just crying out natural human behaviour of speculating while living without real knowledge.

There are insiders/beat writers who know what happened. They should be running home to write about it first instead of waiting for the organization, if they are even going to make a proper address at all. We'll see in two hours.

Seravalli is such a tool.

Contract termination either has to be consensual or there has to be a clear breach of contract for the NHLPA not to step in and throw a fit.

Is *the current rumor* enough for that?

This feels more like a Mike Richards situation to me.

I think it would be. Def unprofessional def doing that with a co workers mother especially a young coworker may be deemed unsafe environment if it led to fighting in the room. Team told him to leave

This presser is painful. Why have a presser if you aren't going to actually answer any questions?
They probably can't say much because of legal reasons, but wanted to address the rumours. Which was absolutely necessary IMO. Show the face of the franchise some support.

I wonder, is refusing to go to the players' assistance program grounds for terminating a contract? If so, that would be a pretty easy explanation of what happened here.

Davidson outright denied this in the presser this afternoon.

Think about it folks. I know we're not supposed to be speculating, but if it's not an issue involving another player or their family member or a legal matter, there's only so much more else it can be. Not hard to put it together if you think about it.

Disclaimer: The Hawks have squashed it having anything to do with players families. I 100% believe that. I am not speculating, repeating rumours etc etc.

But, if you look a a similar act from a contract POV, surely it wouldn't pass a legal test for contract termination?
While it would be considered very poor form (especially in sports where locker-room cohesion is so important), unless it was being conducted at work venues/events then it's not a workplace matter at all. Consenting adults doing consenting adult stuff doesn't get your contract terminated.
It may lead to you getting transferred (traded), but your employer doesn't get to say who you can sleep with unless it has to do with power imbalance in the workplace, which a scenario like this doesn't have.
Although it would be interesting to have the NHL have to come out and declare how far across a family tree you have to go before it's ok. 2nd cousin? Step-sibling?

I’ve been thinking about it and I have no idea.
