Mcavoy has had a really rough series.

He’s basically the be all end all when it comes to pure defenders in this league. Something to note for those of those who think that all of our guys need to be flawless 24/7

If the refs were to be shady tomorrow, it would certainly be in favor of the largest market in the league.

More likely, it'll just be for the purpose of getting the trailing team back into the game like this was.
See, I don’t buy that. I think there is plenty of animus from the the top down, they really don’t care how big of a revenue generator the Rangers are, they let let their own personal biases seep in.

Great South Park episode focusing on this very topic

Why would they be biased against the team lining more pockets than any other team?

Sorry, I never bought the league bias against the Rangers.

It doesn't make financial sense and everything is about the bottom line.

I don't think the league has a hard bias, but under certain circumstances within the flow of a game they will manage the game in a way to keep it "competitive" because Bettman loves to tout the leagues parity. It's his lawyerly way of keeping fans spending money on poor markets.

Then there are the moments when a player or coach won't shut up and get in the refs head one way or another.

gotta say, the only thing still "underrated" about Barkov at this point is how consistently he wilts in big games
He was never underrated. People just like to pretend they discovered the guy every time there's a good player in a small market.

People used to talk about Oliver Ekman-Larsson like he's Bobby Orr until he went to Vancouver and we found out he's f***ing mid. You hear about how good Seth Jones is since he swapped Columbus for Chicago?

The worst part: no Bruins fan will admit their team was handed this game on a silver platter.

OEL proved that big time. God was he as over-rated as you can possibly be.
