Another ex-Ranger in the Panthers series is Tuomo Ruutu behind the Panthers bench. He's been a phenomenal player whisperer for the Finnish National teams over the last few years and it looks like his touch hasn't deserted him with the Panthers in the NHL.
Good callout. I forgot he used to be AD of Player Dev for the Rangers.

Pittsburgh can't get Bedard can they?
As far as I know, the only teams in the division that can get him are Columbus, Washington, or Philadelphia.

He's become more and more cringey with every broadcast. It's kind of painful to watch him interview players. He's the only downside to the TNT/TBS broadcasts. Same deal with PK on ESPN, that dude has to go.

Way to go Panthers and Kraken last night! Forgot where I saw it, but someone pointed out that the Leafs still haven't won a 2nd round playoff game in 19 years. Looks like that streak will live on!

Dude, it's palpatable to me how they hate him and are legit scared to death to say something wrong to him. Cringe inducing shit. It's the most unprofessional person alive in hockey TV. Stick to the podcast.

In the realm where ice and dreams converge,
A tale unfolds that challenges our nerve.
The New York Rangers, fierce and bold,
Seek to reshape their future, untold.

Though playoffs they made, a spirited run,
Their thirst for greatness is far from done.
But barred from the lottery, the draft's sweet call,
They pondered a path to triumph above all.

Enter Glen Sather, a shrewd mind at play,
Whose cunning schemes hold the power to sway.
Within his vaults, a trove of secrets deep,
Blackmail material that could make demons weep.

Gary Bettman, the commissioner fair,
A guardian of rules, with an ironclad air.
Yet Sather's whispers found their way,
To where dark shadows of compromise sway.

In hushed corridors, a deal took shape,
A gamble on trust, a high-stakes escape.
Sather's leverage, a weight that bends,
The commissioner's will, for the Rangers' ends.

The NHL Draft Lottery, the stage was set,
Where destiny and controversy would intersect.
As the wheel spun, hearts fluttered with thrill,
For behind the scenes, fate's course to fulfill.

Amidst the swirling numbers, a twist of fate,
The Rangers' logo emerged, sealing their weight.
Gasps of disbelief filled the hallowed halls,
As skeptics questioned the game's very walls.

But the Rangers held their heads up high,
Their eyes on a prize that dared not lie.
Connor Bedard, a prodigy's glow,
Their franchise player, a future aglow.

Critics raged, controversy unfurled,
Yet the Rangers' faith in their secret world,
Led them down a path untrodden, bold,
To rewrite their story, their legacy to mold.

For years to come, debates would wage,
Of a twisted truth, written on a page.
But as Bedard's skates etched tales of might,
The doubters waned, their voices took flight.

In Madison Square Garden, dreams took flight,
With Bedard's magic, a beacon of light.
The Rangers, defying the shadows of shame,
Forged a destiny bound in the game.

So let this be a lesson, a reminder true,
That sometimes the game's rules, we may subdue.
But in the end, it's the ice where legends thrive,
And the Rangers' tale shall forever survive.

The Bruins were absolutely not the greatest team ever assembled. They had a great regular season but let's not go crazy here. The Oilers dynasty, the Islanders dynasty, the Canadiens dynasties, the 90s Red Wings teams...

The reason they lost is because they aren't as good as their regular season indicated. And an improved version of the President's trophy winning Panthers team from last year beat them.
Let's not forget that Florida was the only team to beat Boston twice this season. They kind of had their number as much as any team could this year.

Wish they changed that rule before we got Laf.
If any other team picked him he would have been an all-star by now.

No.

After the Rangers got Lafreniere on a 1.5% chance or whatever it was, they changed the rule so that the max you could move up is ten spots.

The Pens currently sit at like the 14th pick or something like that.
AGAIN the league changes a rule when the NYR benefit from something. Expect that again the first time the Rangers try to LTIR a player to save him for the playoffs. The league HATES us and this proves it.

They already dropped a warning about that like the day we traded for Kane.

Every team's fan base thinks the league hates their team for one reason or another.

This is actually a great draft to intentionally tank, as the top 4 are absolutely loaded.

Last team will pick at least #3.
