I was at game 2 last year against the Canes when we got shut out 3-0. At least we were in it and it was respectable right to the end of the game. Oh, how I miss last year's team.

I never saw him as anything but pedestrian but knew the Rangers couldn’t adjust to an unknown goalie. Look how many times we have lost to backups and guys in their first games over the years it’s basically a meme.

I’m still missing Cally, Duby, Girardi and the high hopes we had for MDZ.
Haven't been watching this series but I bet Carolina capitalized on rebounds unlike us.

The Devils have massive flaws in their game. It just requires hard work and pressure. Goals take care of themselves because they have defense that cant make a first pass under pressure and terrible goaltending.
That's the look he had during game 2 and we let him off the hook. Ugh
I don't think its lack of preperation.
I said it before the series started when everyone wanted to throw NJ into the ECF, this is an awful matchup style wise for NJ. Schmid was a lock to get lit up in this series and I don't think Vanicek is going to be a whole lot better.
It angers me that the Rangers didn't/wouldn't/couldn't spook the Devils D into coughing up the puck. Carolina has murdered them in that regard.

In his defense, he's not the only player in the league who does nothing but touch the puck last before it goes in.
There's a big one in Washington. They're all over our roster.
I didn't see those games but from what I read it sounded like the Rangers had scouted the Devils really well.
They made adjustments, Rangers PP went ice cold and that was that.
NJ coaching staff has their work cut out for them. This is going to be a much harder task than "pay attention to Kreider and allow Gallant to continue to galaxy brain the PP."
If they try to play the trap vs the Hurricanes they might as well just forfeit the next 2 games.

And the Ottawa barely lost to the worst Cup winner the since the lockout. The Pens played like absolute shit in 2017. It was almost Ottawa vs Nashville. Worst year of hockey.
