Thought both games we played against Boston - Boston had a horseshoe up their butt. Didn't see them clown us or skate circles around us or anything.

So great to see their goalies turn into pumpkins and be out in the first.

One year is a bad sample and looking at the previous year is a very overlooked aspect of gauging how teams will perform.

The Panthers won 58 games in 2022. They're the same team except Tkachuk is a straight upgrade on Huberdeau.

You can't apply it to every team but Florida leaped off the page for me as good value.

Montour seems like a beast but how does any team in 2023 win a playoff series with Marc Staal in their top 4? Bruins fans were lamenting about their third pair being on for so many goals against...finding 6 capable defensemen who can play in this league is really hard. Lots of fans hate their bottom D. We're not the only ones.

It's going to be their downfall in the next round.

Staal almost single handedly lost the game for Florida last night.

I imagine it's a bit like trying to win with Trouba in your top 4.

They lost Weegar and Marchment in addition to Huberdeau, and Duclair missed most of the year. Duclair is back, but he only had 2 goals in 20 games (after potting 31 last year) and has only 1 goal in 6 playoff games.

Last year they led the league with 4.11 goals per game. This year they were 6th at 3.51 goals per game. Still a good number, but a significant drop off from last year.

Defensively, where many thought they would struggle, they were 21st at 3.32 goals against per game. Last year they were tied for 12th at 2.95 goals against per game.

Their goalies have been inconsistent. You never know what you'll get from Bob and Knight has yet to seize the job. Lyon had to come in at the end to save their season.

Good on them for finding a way to beat Boston, but this isn't the same team as last year. The one positive thing is that they probably learned a lot from last year's loss to Tampa. That experience no doubt helped them against Boston.

Montour's year seemingly came out of nowhere. What a bargain deal Florida has him on for another year. If he puts up another season close to this one, he's set up to cash in exactly when the cap is going to go up $10M.

Apparently Ullmark played the entire series with an Injury.

Why the hell wouldn't you go to Swayman earlier? Throwing him in cold for G7 is an impossibly difficult situation for him and its not like Ullmark was killing it.
