I cannot believe the Devils actually called Schneider back up. Its sooo obvious the dude is toast. I get they don't have many alternatives (lol) but come on you gotta come up with something better than that. Elvis got me another shutout in fantasy btw

I hear you but on the other hand Flyers, Jackets and Panthers all win but kinda expected since they all played garbage teams.

True and realistically we are a year away from making a true playoff run but if we can at least stay on the periphery of the playoff bubble as we are currently, that will be more than fine with me.

The kids would get some great exposure and experience to see what it's like to play important games in late February and March as that would be immeasurable in their development.

We do that and hang around like we are, you really can't ask for much more than that considering how young we are and it will bode well going forward for this team.

this Belmont Arena is going to be awfully empty

All I have to say and I've said it a bunch, thank the good lord that Panarin didn't take more money and sign with the Islanders cause he's exactly and I do mean exactly what that team needs.

Had he gone there, I have not a doubt in my mind that they and not the Caps would be the favorite to get out of the East for the Cup. It's this reason alone as to why us going after him and signing him was worth it no matter if by the time we are truly ready to be in Cup contention which likely will be 2022-2023, the Breadman will be 30-31 years old. He'll still be elite tho I have not a doubt in my mind about that.

We've had the pleasure of witnessing many more bright spots this season than I had anticipated. Stellar goaltending from three different guys. Our top players putting on regular clinics. ****ing Fox and DeAngelo. Chytl looking like a solid NHLer. What else? Lindgren and Lemieux.. Strome... Kreider not sucking. Skjei not completely sucking. Nieves finally going away so we can stop talking about it. The list goes on.

The positives are outshining the negatives as a whole. You can say we're trending up.

There is a lot of room for improvement in a bunch of different areas but if the Rangers are this entertaining to watch now I'd say we're good for the future even after we make some necessary moves. We have a lot to offer a lot of teams with not a lot of urgency to make moves.

If the NYR win the next two games before the All Star break you’d have to think that making the playoffs would be a priority THIS season. That means not being sellers at the deadline and possibly even being buyers.

Blues and Caps are probably two best teams in the league now but the NHL is pretty wide open to anyone making a run this year.

i wouldn't have to think that at all...there is a reason why when JD talks every 5th word out of his mouth is 'big picture'

Sharks may give a lottery pick to Ottawa LOL.

I want to see them draft Byfield and Lafreniere

kovalchuk has 4g, 4a in 8 games with the habs.

I've watched him quite a bit as I'm a Carey Price owner in both my $$ leagues and he really has been a revelation since coming to Montreal.

It's only an 8 game sample size but he's been as good and effective as he ever was when he was with the Debbies 3-4 years ago. Looks like the Habs either have a trade chip if they decide they are out of the playoff hunt at the TDL or once they get some of their walking wounded like Gallager, Drouin back, maybe they keep Kovalchuk for a playoff push.

Either way great move by Canadian GM Bergevin to snag Kovalchuk from the scrap heap.

Apparently you and I are on the same page. I mean if you think about it, other than Kravstsov not being here and the Lias Andersson fiasco and maybe Kakko not performing a bit better tho I'm not worried whatsoever as he's going to be a star down the road, pretty much every possible thing any of us here in the fanbase and with management, could have possibly wanted to have happen this year has happened.

IMO and maybe some might differ, but this rebuild of ours has been a massive success and it's not over yet and even better shit is on the horizon as we have a fully stocked prospect pool, we have major star in Panarin we signed who might be one of the best players in franchise history, we have a heir apparent to the King in either Shesty or Georgie, we have a very bright future and despite the fact we have the youngest team in the league, we still are on the periphery of the playoff bubble.

I don't know about y'all but had you told me all this good shit would be occurring at the the same time before the season, I would have said to put the pipe the down and let me smoke whatever it is your smoking....lol

Good times are on the horizon and ya have to give a TON of credit to Gorton for doing, I know I do, what he did almost 2 years ago when he wrote the letter to the season ticket holders saying we needed to start fresh and begin a rebuild...

The Rangers are in an interesting position...8 points out of a wild card spot with three games in hand and 8th from the bottom of the league at this moment.

Hmmm...

I doubt very much we are going to make the playoffs seeing there the Metro is so dominant and there are simply too many teams ahead of us. That said, as I've said a bunch of times, it sure is nice to at the very least be in the zip code of the playoff bubble seeing it's going to be great for our future that our young pups get to experience what important games feel like.

Just winning those two Islander games alone were beyond huge for the kids. Now we have another very important game today vs Columbus. This is awesome...more intense important games for our kiddies.

I can't tell you how thrilled I am at how this year has gone.

I doubt severely we will be buyers at the deadline but I hear what your saying. I know JD has said a bunch that making the playoffs is the goal but what are they going to say...they aren't? lol. Personally I think JD and Gorton hoped and prayed that we'd be pretty much in the position we are now. An exciting young and inexperienced team that is an absolute pain in the f***ing ass to have to play against who is in the neighborhood of the playoffs yet a team that has some pretty glaring deficiencies defensively.

I'd bet a large chunk of my significant mortgage that both JD and Gorton, tho we are not in a playoff spot, are absolutely thrilled to death where our team is at and know like we do that it won't be long once the kids grow up a bit, that we are going to be a major force to be reckoned with going forward and that will be sooner rather than later!

So no, I'd bet the rest of my mortgage we won't be buying at the deadline and in fact it will be the opposite, it's more than likely and as much as I don't want it to happen, we are likely going to be sending Kreider and Georgie off to the highest bidders.

It sucks, but that's the way it's likely going to play out in my view!

My god look at this mushroom-shaped butt end on Holtby's stick... It looks like he took an entire thin roll of tape and just jammed it on there all at once:

Gotta love what’s going on in Toronto. I love when I said to Leafs fans that they had bad defense and goaltending and they scoffed at me. Honestly I’d take our defense and goaltending over theirs any day, and we have Marc Staal.

The Rangers record against teams within their own division is 10-3-0. We get up for games against our closest rivals. We still have 15 more in the remaining 36 games. If that trend continues we could make it very close on a playoff run. But anyway our D has improved a bit from last year but it still needs to tighten up a bit. In the years to come that should happen naturally. The other part of that equation though is the Rangers D is very mobile and attack oriented and if we deepen out our forward depth--get enough that our 4th line can become decent contributors then that attacking style of our D should be even more productive.

It won't be  if he does it to us tonight. He's been playing out of his mind lately. 8-2 in his last 10 games, only giving up 15 goals in that span, and 3 shutouts in his last 4 games.

Imagine if Ottawa got the first two picks in the draft. Cue the conspiracy theories about Bettman rigging another draft to save a franchise that’s on the verge of moving.

Man, Matt Murray is a shell of himself.

I would not be shocked if the guy in the net for Boston today is on Pittsburgh next season. Halak with that roster seems perfect for each other.

You win these two games in the division and I think we will you’re next two are against a terrible Detroit team you can really make up some ground. Very doable. The
