I said it after the first Ranger-Isle game...Trotz is the reason they’ve been as good as they’ve been. That’s a rather mediocre lineup, with no real game breakers. Barzal flourished behind Tavares. Trotz can make them a playoff contender like he did with Nashville. But, there’s no elite talent to win the Cup like he had in Washington.

Islanders need to play a very very structured system to win. They just don't have many very talented forwards. Interesting part will be if they are willing to part ways with picks/prospects to get some kind of scoring help up front. I don't think they are one scorer away from being top dog in the east but will be interesting to see what Lou does.
