I wonder which direction ownership wants to go in. A difference of opinion before the dl. Clearly a direction change that Shero and ownership didn't agree with. Shero bought on Gusev and bought on Subban. Hall couldn't be signed so the trade was certain either way.... hmmm.... I would like to see a rushed rebuild from NJ.

Leafs lose last Wednesday in OT to the Jets. They convince management that, since they have a five day break, they should head down to Florida on Friday for a little sun and sand before their big game with The Panthers. Well, middle of the second and they are down 7-1. Put on the SPF80 cuz they are getting burned. Love it.

Good time to call Toronto and make a Georgiev deal.

If we're moving Georgiev I would call more teams than just Toronto. If I can get a better deal it's too bad for them. As well---there is the summer and in the summer there will be teams who are already out of it that will be looking for a goaltender who might not be interested now.

Brutal loss for the Leafs

Dubas is going to have his work cut out for him next season. Their entire defense will have to be reconfigured

They'd have to make it worthwhile for us. Skjei IMO is not really great as your go to LD guy but he's a good 2nd pairing 20 minute guy and his two way game is pretty good as in 18 points (0 on the powerplay) in half a season. Not sure what Toronto could give us that would make it worthwhile. Maybe Sandin moves up on their D instead and they try to hang on until Rielly comes back. Just an opinion but from this point in the season I don't think they have what it takes anyway. Too much pressure on Frederik Andersen to play every game--a kind of leaky defense to boot. It seems to me they have way too many holes to fill that the likes of Matthews and Marner are not going to be able to overcome no matter how well they play. Not enough team there.

They are top heavy and weak on D...now they have to retain Barrie and watch him walk at season end for nothing as a UFA . Leafs are a MESS...and NO MONEY. If any club was ripe to be picked to the bones....this is them. New coach....No first rounder draft pick...the pressure is really on in TO to win at least one series ....but have to make the playoffs first . Even a Wildcard is not a lock IMO....If they have to win the trade for this year I can live with that knowing it swings back around in our favor when we need it to do so. Get it done Gorts !!!

The Leafs are basically about trying to out-score opponents every night. They know their D is shoddy and their goaltending is unreliable, so I doubt they scramble to try and make a fix. Plus they should get Muzzin back pretty soon, so that'll help things.

I think the Skjei talk was always going to be an off-season move if it happened at all.
