yeah goodbye to another top 10 pick. to be honest though getting 19/20 plus Lemieux for Hayes is pretty good albeit that's not the point right now I know.

I honestly don’t think this makes or breaks a top 10 pick. It does however change the potential price and secondary moves.

I’ve always felt the only way the Rangers were getting into the top 10 was a deal or deals involving Kreider in some capacity.

So let’s say that started with Kreider for 14, I think the Rangers would’ve potentially looked to bundle 28 in that deal to move up if the opportunity was there.

In turn, I think there was the possibility they’ve would’ve taken picks 20 and 58 to move up to 17, or something along those lines.

Now, let’s say the Rangers find themselves 14. The cost to get into the top 10 now involves some combination of 14, 50 and 58, or maybe even 14 and 20.

Likewise, assuming there is no Kreider deal for 14 on the table, I think the alternative is now 14 for 20, 50 and 58 instead of something like 20 and 28.

what number is the Dallas second rounder? Shouldn't it be like 48? what if Colorado wins tomorrow?

Dallas board is saying they pick 17 right now; 16 if Avs win.

That would make the Rangers pick number 48, maybe 47.
I think that is correct. Another reason to root for the Avalanche tomorrow.

Another team that can’t seen to figure out whether they want to show up.
True. I just think there is a greater disparity in talent between San Jose and Colorado then there is between Dallas and St. Louis. I just hope Jones shits the bed in game 7.

Now more pressure on Gorton and company to nail 19/20 since there is no backup at 28ish. The Fox move helps a lot but now makes you wonder if they go safe with the Winnipeg pick?

All things being equal, I think they still go aggressive.

At this point I just want the draft to be over.

Tired of having to factor in various possibilities and outcomes.

Lemme know what we’ve got and let’s move on.
Yep 100 percent. After tonights Avs game the playoffs are over for us. Bring on the draft.

Avalanche are just dipping their skate toe in the (frozen) water this year. I don't know their fiduciary (cap) situation but the team they have iced this playoff looks pretty good, young and destined to make a good run over the next few seasons.

Good luck explaining how we need more than whoever we pick no.2 this year.

A bunch of these shit chucking apes fellow posters wanted to double down on Panarin before we even won the lottery, let alone now that the "rebuild is over" since we pick high.

Prediction: Over the next 7 years, Jamie Benn will see his offensive numbers hover into the 50s-low 60s, go on to hone his defensive game, and become this decade's Rick Nash.

As if Rick Nash is some kind of poster-child of what a player in decline is.
Players have always declined. Why attach Rick Nash's name to decline as if he was the first player ever to be less productive in the latter half of his career than in the first half?
Stop picking up players in the latter half of their career and expecting first half results.
I think the Rangers understand that chasing trailing results is a loser's game.
