Ottawa really shows the rest of the league how to play proper D.

nawt.

I still worry about that team. The last time we played them the Rangers thought they were kids again playing pond hockey. So easy to get into that type of game. We play solid D and we beat them.

Sometimes the best captains are the ones who aren't necessarily out there so to speak.

Not saying he has to be Messier out there, but I do think your captain should be noticeable in some regard.

If I remember correctly he dropped the gloves in the third when they were down by like 3 goals and sparked the team and they won...and that was before he was the captain

Any idea when that was? Only fight of his I remember is the one against Zherdev...

bad too many men call that was overturned that brought the puck into the offensive zone for the face off with ~15 seconds left that ended up in the net.

A player frantically jumped onto the bench as if he was the 6th player on the ice but it there were only 5 players on the ice total and the frantic jump off the ice was by the 5th player. BJs were slow to get the new line change player on the ice and Dvorski blew the whistle for a too many men but were advised otherwise by the other officials.

I thought the puck hit the player going off, hence the stoppage

Or explained by a Blue Jackets fan,

**** YOU OFFICIALS. Blow the ****ing whistle on a mistake and PUT IT BACK in our ****ing zone.

I knew that was going to ****ing happen.

Son of a ****ing *****.

I ****ing hate you ****ing officials. I ****ing despise you.

why would they stop play with puck hitting player going off? The BJs telecast explained it as a too many men call that was overturned. It looked like it to me too.

Pretty bad call in the CBJ game. I thought a mistaken call is either where the puck was when the whistle blows or centre ice. Jackets got jobbed there.

I really hope this doesnt let the leafs sneak into the playoffs...their fans are already getting super obnoxious and they're still one point out and CBJ has a game in hand

because they always call the play dead when it hits a player on the bench.

However, having watched the replay, it looks like it a stick just before hitting the skate of Letestu (I think) who had fallen through the door.

According to*Sports Club Stats*the Rangers have a 100% chance of making the playoffs and that even finishing 0-5-0 would still present them with a 93.2% chance of making the playoffs.

The Rangers magic number to clinch a playoff spot is any combination of three points that the Rangers gain or the Capitals fail to gain.*(NY Post)

The Capitals have 81 points and play in New Jersey tomorrow and against the Islanders on Saturday.

Edit: this was before the rangers got a point against Colorado

I'm actually kind of happy we didn't clinch today. That would give the Rangers extra incentive tomorrow and it's always fun to clinch with a win.

That was before today's game. It's now an even stronger 100%. Probably like a 0.00001 chance of not making it.

The Rangers have an almost 100% chance now of avoiding the wild card and still an 88% chance of getting the 2 seed. Only problem I have with that is it doesn't take into account Pittsburgh's injuries and difficulties against the Flyers, so I still say it's less than 88% chance. If we get the 2 spot, all will be forgiven though for blowing 2 games on the road trip.

hmm, maybe it did hit his foot

#NHL officials ruled the puck made contact with bench door or a glove/stick something on #CBJ bench, put faceoff deep in Columbus end.

I know they've been winning despite themselves but doesn't anyone else hate the fact that we got the Mighty Ducks earlier in the year and now they're playing like the Sitting Ducks? Naturally got them also when we blew chunks.

There's no chance TOR or NJ are winning out. None.
That being said, We just need to beat a OTT team tomorrow that blew a 3 goal lead in less than 5mins tonight and got scored on for 8 last time we played them sooooo.

But technically speaking our clinch number is 1.

Honestly it seemed like we faced all the west coast teams when they were hot at least once
