Did Don Cherry really say Freddy Andersen is the best goalie in the world? Smfh. I agree with Don on most of his stuff but this one really makes you shake your head
 
I just dont know if Dallas will re-sign Zucc if the 1st rounder isnt lottery protected. He has played well so they may be inclined to do so.

And if they do, i am not too fond of the Dallas team. Just dont know what team is going to show up. I definitely dont think they will a lottery pick team but i could see them being a bubble team that misses the playoffs. And given Zucc’s age, that would be bad value for them.

Also do we really think Dallas would re-sign Zucc if they make the WCF this year? That would be forfeiting back to back 1st round picks. They could be bad at drafting but that still can set you back, just ask...well...us.

Unless of course they win a cup.

At first I read the first line as Toronto needs a bad RD and I immediately thought of Pionk and Shatty. But on a second reading I saw my mistake, so I guess there's no deal to be made.
 
As great as Smith has been, Flames can't keep leaving him out to dry.

He already has 33 saves in 33 shots tonight with a period to go. So you have to figure he's going to make 40-45 saves when all is said and done. And that's after 50 saves on 56 shots in Game 3....36 saves on 39 shots in Game 2 after pitching a shutout with 26 saves on 26 shots in Game 1.

So if I do my math right, that's 145 saves on 154 shots which is a .942 Save % and only giving up 9 goals so far in 4 games with a period or more if it goes to OT tonight.

That my friends is the definition of standing on your head and giving your team a chance to win.

I tell ya Johnny Gaudreau better get his head out of his ass but quick. He has come up so very small and it looks even worse when you see how large MacKinnon has come up for the 'Lanche.

Bottom line, if not for Smith, the Flames would be in the same position the Lightning were in and about to be swept. Instead they have a shot at evening the series and that's only because of Smith's heroics.
 
Classic NHL. Smith stands on his head robbing Avs. Calgary scores on rare opportunity. Terrible rebound the culprit.

I’ll take both :sarcasm: if he keeps potting goals and they make it to the wcf and loose it’s all the more reason to resign him.
