maybe i'm in the minority... wouldn't this "injury" be the same as someone getting their head slammed into the boards and passing out? I've never seen a game postponed for that

Getting your head slammed and passing out, probably a moderate to severe concussion. It can possibly be a life altering injury, depending. However it isn't an immediate threat in terms of life or death.

A person collapsing due to a heart issue? Immediate threat, a very real possibility of dying. Much more serious situation, better safe than sorry.

I initially thought that's what happened.

I really don't think Columbus will complain

Don't see a reason why they don't just start from the stopping point. People that go to the game will see most of the game anyway.

I think I remember a Heat game a few years ago that got postponed. It was just the OT, maybe just the last minute of OT. They ended up playing the OT and then the same 2 teams played a full gamer after that.

Yeah, they usually don't have to restart your heart with a defibrillator for a guy who got boarded.

To be fair you can be paralyzed like that.

Typically, and you'll likely agree that this is true, the player has already regained consciousness and displayed an ability to move their limbs when they're taken off on a stretcher after a bad hit. How many times have you seen a guy get boarded and leave the rink on a stretcher completely out cold? Peverley's heart literally stopped.
