Tarasenko scored his 20th tonight..

As an HF Rangers fan, I'm supposed to get mad at you now and tell you how I don't give a rats ass about Tarasenko and all of you whiny fair weather fans need to get over that draft because McI is coming along slow and steady and he's gong to fill a need when he gets here. That flashy loser Tarasenko is overrated and his 20 goals and however many points don't matter to us die hard NYR fans because hindsight a 20/20, we play the right way, we score from the side, and McI fills a need. Stop crying over spilled milk. If I could go back to the 2010 draft I'd do it the same way all over again because if there's one thing being a Rangers fan on HF has taught me it's how to be stubborn as hell and live with misery rather than admit I'm ever wrong.

Amen.

The filling the need schtick is a simple cop out for simply stating 'picking the inferior player'.

Tarasenko is great. His wrister is second to none. I'd kill to have him on this team. Can't believe we missed this guy, regardless of how McI comes along.

Would have helped with our RW as well. Gave us more flexibility in trading Cally for prospects/picks instead of MSL.

Nash
Tarasenko
Zucc

Loaded up on the RW for years. Cally could have been moved for a high pick, or a good LW/LW prospect.

You just know that even if the Rangers ended up with Tarasenko that something would have happened. He either would've stayed in Russia, gotten hurt, or the Rangers would have messed his development up one way or another, probably by moving him to LW or assigning him to the AHL and keeping him there way too long. The Blues developed him perfectly. Spent two seasons after being drafted in Russia like he should have, and started him on the third line in the NHL where we could play hard and earn his top 6 minutes.

This is how the Rangers should approach Buchnevich. He's not going to come over to ride the bus in the AHL. If his stats this year are any indication, he'll win a spot out of camp in the 2015-2016 season if he keeps developing.

/off topic rant

Pretty cool stuff from Tavares. Hard to truly dislike him.

Pretty sad though from Jets fans. Just a kid, leave him be.

Tarasenko's goal was a beauty, Oshie's pass, sweet.

But don't forget, Jaden Schwartz potted 2 and that makes 21 goals on the year for him !

But everything's fine and good at Kramerica Industries.....

I'm certainly guilty of some of this, however I can admit it was the wrong pick. Rangers have consistently missed top talent in the first round. However, what good does it do to continually bring it up? It's a useless exercise IMO.

Because it continues to go on from the current regime, same stubborness won't change until they're removed.

Now 4-3 panthers. Keep it up and kick some devils ass. I really hope Schneider dont resign in NJ. Would be really nice to see the devils in goalkeeper limbo a few years

They would be truly screwed without Schneider. I don't follow the Devils prospects obviously, but even if they had a goalie in the chute, they cannot afford to lose Schneider.

Same for Rangers if Talbot walks next year. will be an UFA.. Rangers dont have any quality prospects. but Sather thinks this wont be an issue. too bad the Rangers couldnt grab one of the Kings or Blues goalie prospects...

Really? Do you honestly think Talbot leaving the Rangers is equivalent to Schneider leaving the Devils?

Pretty sure Johnny Malkin played on the Avs already before coming to NY. So more like he got home sick :sarcasm:

I don't recall that... Could be wrong though. Thought he'd only played for Toronto. Either way he's a full time, quality third liner in Colorado.

And what the fudge is with Anders Lee? Kid gets called up and has 9 points in 8 games. And it's been consistent. It's not like he's had a four point game. He seems to be on the board almost every night. 11 points in 10 career NHL games. 7 of them goals. Really supposed to top out as a physical 3C, maybe fringe second line winger and he's just scoring like he has no business doing.

he had a good year in the AHL, and for a 6th round pick, he seems to be a good find by the Islanders. played on the same team as 1st round pick Riley Sheahan and outscored him. i wonder why he got taken so late.. skating maybe?? he has good size and scored pretty well in college..

I think he's the next Lucic. They'll give him a shot on Tavares's LW next year and I have a feeling he'll be able to produce. He's going to be a late round gem.

He was drafted out of Edina HS in Minnesota. His team was good that year and featured Zach Budish who was a top pick that year, had 66 pts in 20 games and 18 pts in 6 playoffs games, he was totally noticeable at that size too, so scouts from most teams must have gotten a decent look at him.

Anders Lee also played football and rushed for 1100 yards in 10 games with 32 tds, as a QB.
