Great game by the Blues.
Although I knew about their good record in the second half I guess I was just not prepared for such a well coached team with a good goalie.

Man I like Hayes but he barely played. This could be the Nash trade all over. One good young player and a very nice first round pick
I liked Hayes too, but first and foremost in my mind was "what will we get for him?" ha ha.

The Copp-Lowry-Tanev line is the best checking line in all of hockey imo.

Jets lack a 2nd unit. Already benching Hayes.

Laine doesn't check. Fore or back. Not the most effective 5v5 player.
It may not be popular, but I've said it for months now.

The Jets should trade Laine this summer for a king's ransom. A team like Edmonton, Buffalo, or Detroit is ripe for the picking.

Some Winn fans are worried that he won't re-sign. I don't think that was ever happening. I can't see a city guy like Hayes living there.

Zucc tomorrow. It would be amazing for both of these teams to go up 2-0

Jets have been mediocre since 2019 started. Blues floored the gas pedal in the same time span. Not surprising here.

Because of his scoring think people forget Laine isn’t even 21 yet. He’s got a lot of developing to do. But he’s a friggen Star would be so dumb trading him

I know but do you know where exactly? How is that measured

8Playoff teams that did not win their divisions and did not make the conference finals, sorted by points, are assigned the next picks

Conference finals losers sorted by points are assigned picks 28 and 29

Stanley Cup runner-up is assigned pick 30

If Winnipeg loses in this round or next the get slotted from 16-27 since the conference finalists get 28-31. If teams below them who made the playoffs like Vegas or Columbus or Dallas or even St. Louis make the conf finals then that pushes our pick even higher. So basically the teams that don’t make the conference finals get reseeded based on points and if they were division winners.
Most likely if the jets lose this round we probably get a pick at 20/21.
Hope that wasn’t too confusing

Crazy stat that I couldn't believe. Kyle Connor only had 9 hits in 82 games this year. He's a great young player, but how can he not get even 10 hits in one season? Laine had 70. I embarrassingly know this because some joker added a hits category to our roto league this year.

Is that for real....10 spot difference? Wow.

What exactly were the trade specifics...I'm too lazy to look
Hayes for Lemieux and the jets first rounder. If the jets won their division that pick would have been much worse. Since they lost the division and hopefully lose in the first round that picks goes up significantly

For example if the jets made it to the conference finals or finals or won the cup it could easily be a 10 pick difference
